Currency Travel Cards

At the USS Arizona memorial today my friend used this card. Initially the person serving was unsure if they should accept the card as they had not seen or heard of this card, but ultimately did accept it.

It strikes me that there may b a little grey area here and that people should have a backup.

An unrelated question.

With a CC there is bank protection if there is an unauthorised transaction on the CC. Does the same type of protection apply to these travel cards :?:

If not then how does one get a transaction reversed and sorted out :?:

.... The case in point is that friends of ours used a Travelex travel card to pay their on-board expenses on our recent cruise. The shipping line has 'double dipped' on their account and actually getting a local agent of the shipping line to talk to is proving difficult.

We were on there yesterday morning but were off to Pearl Harbour this morning and off to JQ4 tomorrow morning.
