Current Qantas baggage interlining on separate tickets

*You may be required to collect and re-check your bags at certain airports due to local security or customs policies
Also:

That, for example is what happens at LAX, SFO or DFW when flying Qantas from Oz, even if on a single ticket.

This is also true for connections from international to domestic flights thoughout Aus.

It can be possible to interline between alliances: recently flew OS to VIE (*A) & then BA to LHR (OW). Absolutely no problem getting my bag checked through to LHR, in fact it made the flight before mine (the one where the MCT was too short to book)

How about a connection QF-AA - departing in NZ and changing in SYD ?
Would CI in NZ check the bags all the way through ?

Qantas policy is to interline to oneworld carriers even on separate tickets.

So QF->AA should be fine.

How about checking in (forthe seat) airside for AA ? Would that be possible or woudl I need to enter Oz again, check-in landside (even though my bags are checked through) ?

Should be fine .. if not, either systems are down or you have a lazy/incompetent agent.
