What were they playing, selections from AC/DC?Ok, first things first. The better pic of the fabulous quartet playing on well after the official lunch and no, not in a Titanic (or Titanique) kind of way! They were great and so was lunch today. The Bridgerton soundtrack vibes were a hoot.

I skipped the S&P Squid and went for the pork patties (they were rissoles when I was a child) but yummy, Vietnamese flavours.

The snapper, whilst a small serve was tasty
and well cooked (it’s steamed - so slightly different texture to fried/grilled).

Probably a first world problem and niche issue, but I always wondered Qantas‘ in my view terrible taste in beer offerings. It seems that they can‘t even offer some decent craft beers from micro breweries in the F Lounge.
In a major overhaul to the Flying Kangaroo’s beer range several Qantas lounges have been stocked with James Squire ginger beer and a new local independent beer range including Hawke’s lager in Sydney, Straddie Amity Pale Ale in Brisbane, Bentspoke Crankshaft IPA in Canberra, Gage Roads Single Fin Summer Ale in Perth and Stomping Ground Big Sky Hazy in Melbourne. Customer favourites Stone and Wood and Cooper’s Pale Ale are being served inflight in addition to the lounge.
Similar but different, in Koh Samui recently, the waiter constructed the Tiramisu at the table - a work of art @BeanoAlso once was given a deconstructed Tiramisu. Never again!
Aren't sowing machines big agricultural equipment. Perhaps it was a sewing machine? My wife took plants through the x-ray machine on a domestic flight recently and was taken aside for questioning. I find this a very interesting take as I have a complete different view - and I am sure that is because I spent most of my time in CX F Pier and QF F SIN.I’d rate QF SYD First better than CX HKG Pier First also. The QF F lounges in LAX and SIN, to some extent are up market “food halls”, although the actual food at SIN is very good.

Food wise, I think nothing beats QF F SIN. The dining room at CX F Pier is very nice and a lot of the dishes (but indeed not all) are absolutely gems. Overall lounge design and experience, CX F Pier is miles ahead SIN and SYD QF.
QF SYD F to me looks like a relict from the early 90ies, and neither service nor food left me impressed ever (see previous posts here).
The retro look is actually by design which I think is fine in itself, but a proper cleaning and a refresh of the furniture would do it wonders (I noticed they've finally replaced some of the old, sticky dining tables). The service, though, remains haphazard. The menu is well crafted but poorly executed. Conversely, I find the service in QF HKG/SIN to be extremely consistent and of a high quality.
