Customs officers

I've never really had a problem at SYD, with the exception of a gentleman being a bit snappy because I dared to line up, rather than use the disabled line (silly me assumed it was for disabled folk).

SFO has been my worst experience - the bloke was SO rude. LAX has generally been good, as has JFK.

LHR, as mentioned before, asked me way more questions than I am used to. The gentleman was lovely, but until then I'd never been asked to provide proof of onward travel.

I do get a few funny looks when I ask the nice folk at immigration to please stamp my passport in order on the pages. Way too hard to work out where you've been or when, when they open and stamp it on any old page. Makes your pretty passport look untidy.......

In Singapore an exit Immigration agent was rather snappy with me when he couldn't find the correctly dated entry stamp. I have several full page visas in my passport so it gets messy. As if I would tell a Singapore officer where to put his stamp! And as if I could get into Singapore without it.

I tried to get my passport stamped in France in 2000 and the customs officer did not even want to touch the passport - I just got shooed away

I have entered SYD,MEL,BNE, and they were always polite. Maybe I'm just likable.

I just remembered, I have come in via Brisbane once, all good except there was only one officer on duty for an A380 which was not good.

My daughter travelling by self SYD-MEL-LAX-YVR when 15yrs got asked whether she was running away from home. Luckily we had prior intel about Canadian customs so has prepared a "to whom it may concern" letter.

Similar experience here, but once at FCO where the lines were to the back of the hall one of the officers started shouting "Australia!?" and waving people through with a nod and nothing else but a glance at the passport cover! And that was coming from a non-Schengen flight.

This happened to us in June, but without them shouting Australia, they just called everyone through, we were coming from Colombo.

Of course when we were leaving latter, the passport was checked a couple of times for an entry stamp.
