I like your chances, especially towards the tail end of your trip.

Any crystal-ball gazing on the London lounge? I'm flying through LHR on the 19th of August and feeling quite nervous about my chances of it opening in time...

We're now in June but no word yet on The Pier J opening. Anyone heard anything on their travels through HKG?

Will be there on the 20th, 24th and 26th so fingers crossed!

Update for you: all clear for 20th onwards, Mr Smart, in fact by then the new lounge will be well and truly humming along.

Happy to share that The Pier Business Class Lounge opens to the public tomorrow morning, Saturday June 18th. :)

Currently sitting in this absolutely stunning Pier J lounge. I'm spending 8 hours here today just working, eating, drinking, showering and eating some more. I'm so in love with this place. Here's some pics.

I'm calling it — best business class lounge in the world.

Sipping Veuve Clicquot to accompany. It's a hard life.

The worst part is our flight to JFK departs gate 3. First world (class) problems I know...

One of my favourite lounges, and arguably the world's best F lounge (contentious claim, I know, but there are different ways to measure and judge a lounge).

Thanks for the pics ComeFlyWithMe!

I've been following a thread on FlyerTalk complaining about how the food in The Pier F has gone downhill since they switched operator to Plaza Premium from The Peninsula. Rubbish by the looks of it! ;)

I was in the HND and TPE CX lounges recently and they're almost as beautiful. It really is the little things, like those brilliant drawers.

Should get a chance to see the BKK lounge next week and the LHR lounge (if it manages to open) in October. The outport lounges seem really solid.

Exactly so. The designer (Ilse Crawford) has made these new CX lounges very human, considered and 'liveable' spaces. For example, I find The Pier F is more relaxing than the Qantas F lounge.

BKK's great, a lovely compact little space which carries off 'intimate' very well IMHO. And LHR F and J will both be open by October :)

Not strange at all. I'm pretty obsessed with their new design language.

Studioilse, the studio behind all the new lounges, have had quite a bit written about them since launching The Pier, but this Wallpaper article lists Lindsey Adelman as the firm behind the brass light. That makes me think the same firm was commissioned for all the other brass fittings but I could be wrong. Regardless, I think it's fairly safe to say most is bespoke for the project.

After a load of searching I finally managed to source some that are similar at a reasonable price :).

FYI: CX LHR J and F lounges will 'soft open' tomorrow (Monday Nov 28) ahead of official ribbon-cutting on Dec 7.

Thanks David!

New LHR lounges look beautiful, as expected, but they seem a little smaller and more cramped than some of the others, particularly compared to The Pier F/J which it seems to be modelled on. Or is that just the pictures?

We were there last week, and the new CX Lounge was a welcome reprieve from the tired BA T3 F Lounge.
I've not been in HKG for quite a while, so can't comment on the size comparison.

At LHR, the F section is not huge but is - or was, for the couple of hours we were there - peaceful and capacious. There is a small private dining room but, of course, F pax also have access to the Noodle Bar set up in the adjacent J Lounge.

The J Lounge was also quiet and almost empty when we were there, and is beautifully fitted out. I didn't put them through their paces on the Noodle Bar offerings, as we had enjoyed a late lunch before check in. Next time, though. :)

Service in the F section was most attentive and the facilities are comfortable and well set out.

After doing the rounds of the Wing F and Pier F lounges this afternoon, it should be noted that the Wing F dining room includes a buffet option where the Pier F dining room does not. Therefore, the a la carte menu at the Pier F is more extensive but a bit limiting if you are hungry.

My recommendation is to do both......
