CX Lounge entry denied (SFO)

I’ll be trying in about an hour...don’t fancy chances with CX though....

Are you flying J? Do you currently have WP status or are you relying on your LTG (well done on getting that btw)?

There are two CX early morning flights so anything less than WP (or maybe even P1) would likely get turned away.

Doesn't hurt to try. I love that lounge.

Just in lovely Y and as LTG, so the answer was a firm ‘No’... AF/KL lounge was as disappointing as many have said...it was a bit farcical as the ladies on the door didn’t seem to know the rules but were quite happy to take people’s word. “You can’t have 2 guests as SG.” “But one is a child.” “Oh, ok then, I think that’s ok...”. A few members of the Aus 7s teams and staff were in the lounge and it got very full very quickly. Food was minimal but edible - quite a nice penne and meatballs. Wines were fine. Seating and general amenity leave a lot to be desired though.

Was flying out of SFO on QF74 last Friday - decided to try and get into the CX lounge (I'm SG, my partner NB, flying in Y). To our delight we were both let in without any issues... there was already maybe 15-20 Aussies in the lounge, and a bunch more were let in after us, and there were two CX flights scheduled out later that night.

Once we were in I asked the staff about whether there were any restrictions in terms of number of non-CX and was told "we used to have restrictions but now we can let in any Sapphire or Emerald". Wondering if CX actually has changed rules, or if there's just mixed information for staff?

Out of curiosity we dropped into the AF lounge on our way to the flight - I think someone's earlier description as a "hospital canteen" felt pretty accurate, we couldn't even find a seat!

It could be a policy change or it could simply be that there weren't many status passengers on the CX flights for some reason so they weren't expecting as many passengers to enter the lounge ahead of CX flights so could let more people in. Airlines want to make sure that their own passengers that are entitled to use the lounge will be able to.

Early days, but interested to see if any QF J/SG/WP PAX on QF codeshare (FJ operated) to NAN are granted access to CX lounge under OW Connect arrangements?
