CX no longer welcoming OW flyers

Interesting - I have had a CSM greeting on every flight I have been awake when they do the greeting (I often fall asleep on take off and wake as the first drinks trolley rolls past). Not sure when my next trip will be so will be interesting to monitor this.

My Previous travel with CX as been as a QF SG, and was personally greeted, and even been upgraded on one flight from Y to J.

Anyhow..I'm about to board CX138 in about an hours time from SYD to HKG, now I'm a WP so will take interest in seeing what happens

On my recent trip I had 5 business class flights and 1 economy class flight. I received a personal greeting on one 1 out of 5 business class flights. I have noticed this trend on my recent trips.

I do not have an issue with onboard service or willingness of the cabin crew to help. Customer service at the airport is not the standard I would expect for a business class customer and Oneworld Emerald though.

I also have constant problems with flights crediting to QFF account correctly and need to chase them up. No further flights planned on CX in the foreseeable future as I am going to move intra-Asia travel to MH.

Good luck with that. Getting mh to credit to its own program can be a long drawn out affair.

I'm a QF WP and I recently flew LAX-HKG-BNE in Y with CX. Can't remember any OneWorld announcements, definitely did not receive a personal greeting on either flight, and definitely was not offered a drink or anything different to the rest of the passengers in Y.

Did they give you exit row seating?

How did you rate their Y experience?

As I was accompanied they did not offer a free exit row seat, it would have meant paying for my companion. As for the Y experience, I would rate any Australian domestic Y better than CX.

+1 - plus i have been offered a business class wine/champagne etc, and I have always been asked to complete a survey.

+2 as a OWE when flying with CX I have always been greeted and welcomed aboard by name (irrespective of class of travel), offered J class bubbles when in Y and even offered a J class meal on one occassion!!

Wow, all I can say is that there must be different categories within OWE, because I've had none of that in Y with CX.

There are different levels within QFF for WP, not just in OW, and I am not talking P1 either, be assured the airlines know very well your net worth to them both in actual and potential terms, which is why there are the minimum published benefits, and then there is unpublished benefits.

Would the different levels of WP or OWE actually make it onto the passenger manifest though?

No one came and welcomed me or anything, which i don't mind.

Anyone else feel awkward when QF comes around and "welcome back, thank you for your loyalty and choosing to fly with us today" and the 2 other choice phrases all chained together. I always feel like deer in headlights coz I have no idea what to reply with. You're welcome?? or Thank you? Or sometimes i just smile.

I just reply with "Thank you <NAME>, its good to be back, I hope we both have a great flight" followed by a smile. Guaranteed to get you a little extra attention :-)

This is not the first time I've heard this mentioned. 3-4 times I've flown with a colleague who is also WP1 and have been given much more attentive service than he received. Started from check-in, through the lounge, boarding process and all through the flight!

On one LAX-SYD flight flying with the same colleague both in J, the FA offered to move me from J to 1st due to a crying baby in the same row. I declined the swap as thought it would be rude to abandon my colleague and never thought anymore of it. On recollection the FA then approached two other J pax with the same offer. Thought it was just random at the time but maybe there's more to it....

got the welcome from the CSM the other day in PE and also the little hand written card with the details of the flight and welcoming me back! Akward but great service!

Always a pleasure to be on board CX. Have always received a OWE welcome/chat.
+1 I've only missed out once (10+ CX flights last year) - & two upgrades on long haul flights - I feel a bit more love from CX than QF tbh.
