CX Operated by KA: No QFF Points/SC Earn?

I was looking at the QFF Airline Earning Table for CX. It says:

Qantas Points and Status Credits are earned on all eligible booking classes, except on Cathay Pacific Airways codeshare flights operated by an airline other than Qantas or a oneworld alliance airline.

Does this mean that a CX flight operated by KA (in an otherwise eligible booking class) does not earn Qantas Points and Status Credits? KA is an affiliate of a oneworld alliance airline (CX), but is not itself a oneworld alliance airline (which is defined in clause 2.1 of the Qantas Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions as "any airline that is a member of the oneworld® alliance from time to time").

This strikes me as a little bit odd, seeing as a flight both operated and marketed by KA (in an eligible booking class) does earn both Qantas Points and Status Credits: see the Airline Earning Table for KA.

Cathay Dragon is a oneworld affiliate member.

From a oneworld perspective it's a bit like QantasLink.

This exception is referring to cases like when there is a CX flight number on Air New Zealand or Lufthansa metal.

Yes...sxc is correct. I have flown Cathay Dragon many times and have received points and status credits...

Let me also add, that when you read through the terms and conditions its like wading through a legal document and can be confusing. I have only found out what works through trial and error over the years. Normally you need a QF# on your flight when using a one world airline to get status and points. However, not all airlines have 'code-share' like Cathay. As part of the One World Alliance it kicks in there. However, the points and status are not as high as if you flew a QF flight or a code-share QF flight...Malaysia is the same...

That is not correct - the advice should be is to ensure the fare bucket purchased is eligible to earn on QFF.

Yes that's a given in on all flights but what said is still correct...

No, it’s misleading. It’s the fare bucket that is the relevant factor here.
