Hi All

I have two redemption options from a trip from BKK to NYC. Either CX or JAL in premium. Neither has business class available on my dates. Would be grateful for views on which is a better product? Cost is factor. The CX seats are 6k less QF points and $200 less in taxes. But if the JAL product is genuinely better, I 'll happily pay the extra

thanks in advance

Premium is premium. Both meh. Winning choice would be CX if you have emerald status and booking on full flights.

Business would be a no brainer if you could get new JAL seats.

CX is probably better and HKG is a much better airport with better Oneworld lounge options.

I'm actually doing JFK-HKG-BKK on CX in November, AA redemption in J. Have flown CX J before and enjoyed it and looking forward to this trip.

I've been a CX fan for a while now so normally book them but next month I'm sampling the JL 787 in J just to try them out.

thanks all. CX it is. Would do J if I could but there is nothing available. I looked at all oneworld carriers and all options. Only possibility was AAnytime Hong Kong via Dallas but very expensive in miles.

Flew CX last year in PE, flying with them this year in PE. Flew with JAL in J a few years ago, top service, FA's are brilliant, as good as the CX FA's. Haven't used JAL PE, as you know they fly out of Sydney and I'm a Melbourne boy and Hate Kingsford Smith. So no use JAL

If you can, snag a CX PE seat at the bulkhead window-side seats... heaps of legroom. You can use a standard sized rolla-board case under your legs during flight for a perfect horizontal leg rest. Makes for a comfortable journey.
