CX Seat selection

The shellseat recliners are a shocker. We had a full flat subbed to regional on a red eye CGK-HKG a year or so ago. Not a pleasant flight.

But interested to hear about the F seats being selectable. Through an odd coincidence, I’m flying SYD <-> HKG 6 times this year - 4x CX J (and 2x QF J).
I don't think its selectable in any automatic system, but you can be assigned (i think it goes to CX elites first then OWE).

Yeah, slightly conflicting info in those videos posted further up thread. Sounds like it’s luck of the draw when checking in?
Some people have reported succcess when calling. Others like encryptededdy couldnt get them to assign it through the support.

I've never managed to get into the F seats as a QF WP - it seems to be a CX DM perk. I did have someone on a flight make a big fuss ("I'm friends with the CEO of Qantas and would have bought F if it was available!") and eventually get moved onboard.

As for the mini-cabin, I would definitely recommend it. It's much more peaceful than the main cabin and service is better IME.

Oh and I also just noticed CX501 being switched on NRT-HKG. Ah well.

Thanks for the tip 👍

Yeah, posted about that a little earlier in this thread. Unfortunate, but not the end of the world.
