Long time lurker, first time poster. Not sure if this would be the right place to post this rock-bottom priced fare considering plenty of members here are avid mileage runners flying J/F and would probably anguish at the thought of flying an LCC long haul. :p For those who are budget-conscious like me, (a 17 yo first-year law student working at Subway haha), flying to KUL with AirAsia is essentially cheaper than to PER with QF! A side trip to BOM and PEN is only an extra few ringgits, so I'm headed there aswell. Also, Tune Group Hotels are currently offering rooms in Downtown Kuala Lumpur for around $15 AUD a night. So if you're considering an ultra budget trip, it's an excellent proposition.

Thats a great deal.

My problem is not with the airline, it's with planning 1 year ahead. I just can't do that. I often book 3 days before I go, my plans constantly change.

If I could get a fare next week at that price, Id probably take it... but I find Air Asia is pretty expensive at short notice, whereas you can often get SQ/TG fares at the same price for the following day as it was if you booked 3 months in advance.

We had a stoppover in KL on our way to London for a few days, the money you save on the flight to Malaysia you can spend on a very nice 5 Star hotel or huge 4-4.5 Star room/apartment. Traders hotel goes well ;)
