Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

You can sign up for the newsletter of The Other Bordeaux He regularly offer mix dozen with wines from different French regions.
Thank you
Sign up for the Randalls newsletter, they sell a stack of French, Italian, German/Austrian stuff and also regularly have some deals/discounts. Really great retailer.
Link doesn't seem to be working?

I normally wouldn't bother with Boozebud, but 2 X Bin 28 would be around $25ea which isn't too bad

Do many people in here buy international wines? I'm really interested in buying some French wine! I've bought a bit of Italian, American but I really wanna get a taste and understanding of what wine I enjoy.

I assume many of you have really tried different varieties? Just seems difficult to find good international wine, priced well. I literally know nothing about French wine. Any websites, have decent deals?

Thanks in advance
Some of the BWS stores still have a few French/Italian/Spanish/US wines on clearance. I bought quite a bit earlier this year, depending on where you are you could get lucky.

I've bought a bunch of Italian wines on clearance, some Spanish, American and a few French.

I noticed today, the store had French wine for $16 down from $18 but I don't want to waste my money on the cheapest wine without any idea. I need to work out what to look for? Trial & Error? Haha

Can confirm both BWS 15% codes still working.

Used one to get 6 Ata Rangi for $31 after all discounts.
Used another to get 6 Vat47 for $27 after all discounts.

Ditto - the codes are still working . Had to set up a BWS account for my wife and dicked around to ensure I could use the codes the second time and thanks to a generous tip from a member - grabbed some St Andrews CS and Pierro CabMerlot at a pretty descent price.

Probably not the greatest idea to buy a bunch of random International wines just because they are on clearance at 50% or greater - you should really establish what style you would enjoy, make a shortlist and then hunt them down - just saying so you don't get put off by drinking wines that are not really up your alley - but of course it is entirely upto you!

As a basic rule you should stay away from the wines with a packaging made for export: Label with French flag, Eiffel Tower or a frog ;)
French wine labels are very classic and 'serious'. It also needs to be cork. Screw cap is for cheap wines.
Wines always display their appellation on the label and that is what you look for as the strict appellation rules make it a guarantee of quality.
'Bordeaux' and 'Bourgogne' (don't even talk to me about 'Burgundy') are not proper appellation but general one for wines that didn't make it into their sub-region appellation.
So for Bordeaux for example you will look for a 'St Emilion', a 'Margaux' or a 'Haut Médoc' without any mention of 'Bordeaux' on the bottle.
That is just some basic about reading a label when you have no ideas. Not true in every cases but could help you avoiding the cough wines made for the poms ;)

Looks like Randall’s website is down currently but got their EDM just the other day so probably just a temporary IT issue. Well worth checking back.

Does the shopback 35% apply to the cart amount (subtotal) or the amount after various discounts/credits? Hopefully the former....

It was more than 50%< at the time I stacked with 10% plus CB.

I double checked all the wines, literally all were sold at Dan Murphys, all had good reviews and close to 70% off. It was a risk, but that's buying most wine I've never sampled.

I will drink most wine, but recently I do enjoy Pinot more and I feel better drinking it. I do have to narrow it down, and spend less. I work weekends, it's hard to get out to winery's, but I plan to do more wine tasting. I mean I'm an hour from 100s of wineries 😁

And amex 15% will it bring just below 20..
I don't have an AMEX, I miss the perks but couldn't be bothered rushing to sign up in time.

I think you are missing a point I was trying to make - all good, we all have our own ways of choosing wine!

If I were you, I would most definitely spend time visiting wineries that are near to taste and gain knowledge than spending hours driving around chasing massively discounted deals!

Just realised with this combined deal it's 47% off the entire Boozebud store up to the cashback Max of $30

Lots of good deals eg. Shadrach for $45, bin 28 for $21, keyneton euphonium for $26..so tempting but I can't buy any more
