Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

The two mystery fine red boxes come out at abt $17/btl delivered when you apply the 22% + 60 off. Decent price for reasonable quaffers I reckon.

How much would you pay for Premium Barossa Shiraz made from vines that are well over 100 years of age? $175, perhaps? You could, and we’re sure you would be very happy with your purchase.
$175… That is the asking price for today’s ultra-premium mystery wine - at least according to the winery’s website. You could certainly shop there and go home content.

But, as you know, The Wine Collective’s Mystery wine promotions are aimed at offering frankly absurd savings but hiding the label from you until you open the box. And this time we’ve outdone ourselves.

$85. That is all you will pay. A full 50% off. But the deal gets sweeter.

We’ve already told you that this Shiraz is made from gnarled Barossa old vines that are super low yielding, producing fruit of extraordinary intensity and scarcity. You by now know that with this quality level this must be from one of the region’s highest regarded producers. But you won’t know that the previous FOUR vintages of this wine have been awarded either 97 or 98 points from Wine Advocate, and boy do those guys know their red wines.

Is this the most premium and heavily discounted wine we’ve ever offered as a mystery? It’s got to be up there…

Oh, just one more tiny detail we forgot to mention.Extremely limited allocation is the understatement of the year. Get in now.

My guess it's Hobbs 1905 Shiraz

sorry, should have added the link. Anybody tried it before?
Yep- typical Barossa flagship Shiraz. Big upfront fruit bomb, followed by great Shiraz spice. Nice length, but also needs 7-10 years cellaring to reach potential. Is it a $170 wine? yeah, nah. Is it a bargain at $85- possibly. At this price I will go out on a limb and say pick up the 389 2018 at $77 or so from cellardoor as a better use of real estate in your cellar.

Laithwaites today has 40%/42% with Cashrewards capped at $60 ie $150 spend

Stack with Amex $150 spend for $50 back

= Spend $150 , pay $40
I went for the Eileen Hardy which at $135 is pricey but with CR+Amex is a must-buy for me (one of the 3 best wines I drank last year). Threw in a Primitivo to trigger Amex

Did Eileen Hardy too. Plus a $6 'premium' 187 ml bottle of White Duck Chardonnay Pinot Grigio. With $9.99 delivery came in at $150.99.

-$50 AMEX
-$51 CR

= $50 for Eileen Hardy. Not bad at all! Thanks for posting!

If anyone wants that White Duck Chardonnay Pinot Grigio let me know ;)

Did anyone receive an email from Amex confirming they have met the Laithwaites spend requirement? I placed an order and didn't get a confirmation, normally it comes through right away when I redeem Amex promos.
