Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Placed multiple orders for clearance stock at VC and got multiple order cancellation messages today….

I was just looking at the title of the thread….how long since anyone has seen or posted a deal at DM’s? Things have been very quiet since they let go of that pricing guy….
Haha, I was thinking this the other day. Dans had free shipping a week ago (maybe still do?), so I pored over their selection...there was nothing that could not be found cheaper elsewhere (even with free shipping).

I was lucky with VC. 5 out of 7 picked up, some with higher value replacements

I was thinking about the same thing the other day. The only purchase I made recent was this

Merite Single Vineyard Wrattonbully Cabernet

A high quality cab More attractive with free shipping.

There are still plenty opps with Dan’s with price beats if you have your ducks lined up and RACV 5% on top of this - but it certainly not what is was since being hived off

Cashrewards have a 25% cashback at Vintage Cellars, $25 cap

A few reasonable deals (mostly foreign wine):

possibly the best value current member special after 5% myColes, 10% survey (pm for code) is
besides above and pinot noir, after also 5% myColes, 10% survey:

did you miss my post three above yours on the same day?
don't forget the Barolo - though now owned by the same family,
is still possibly better (credit/thanks to Winefront)

and the one before that last week?

+1

ok, maybe there were a couple😛 Interesting that the ones you posted the other day were all European.

There is the occasional deal at dans. The $30 2013 blackwell and some 13/14 cliff edge springs to mind.

Re price beating - I think it just depends on your store. I had occasional success in the past, but I've also had a couple of stores simply refuse to beat prices. I tried to calmly put my point, but it didn't work. I just decided it wasn't worth the hassle of arguing with store managers. Is it better online?

For Dans PB they must have identical item in store at time you are trying to PB.

Or call Dans main number and speak to agent online - they will and do PB - I have even had agents in HO search stores for me to find product I wanted - it can and does work

Thanks! I got what I am pretty sure is Gundog Estate Hunter Shiraz for about $11.50 a bottle, if cashback comes through. Will see if the cashback comes through, given the code wasn't listed on the Cashrewards site...but a good deal regardless.

Was it the Gundog?

Will be interesting to see whether they can rise to Kalleske's hights...

"Originally set up by the Kalleske family the Pirathon brand was sold in late 2017 and has continued to go from strength to strength. The Kalleske family created an excellent brand and award-winning wine with Pirathon Wines. Our aim is to further support this excellent foundation to ensure the business grows organically and sustainably over the long term."
