Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

20%/$40 Cashrewards @ Vintage Cellars - ends today - besides previous picks:

possibly the best value Barolo Classico (and based in MEL :)):
  • 10% off sitewide in cart @ Linnea e.g. Barolo Vertical: 2010-2013 4pk $207 delivered ($51.75/bt) - Father's Day sale
probably the cheapest / best value Barolo Cru:
  • 2019 Monchiero Barolo Rocche di Castiglione $99 @ Ethereal (pm for free delivery code)
2019 Monchiero Rocche Barolo Pre-Arrival Offer
  • 2016 Monchiero Pernanno Barolo Riserva $98
  • 2015 Monchiero Barolo Riserva Rocche di Castiglione $109
  • 2021 Monchiero Langhe Nebbiolo Anfora $43

Speaking of Serrat, did anyone else buy today? I grabbed a couple of SV and a couple of pinot.
Still thinking about it, when you add the shipping it’s about the same cost as buying at a retail store from what I can tell. Not sure I need a case.

  • 25% off 2023 Koerner Pigato Vermentino / Tiver Rosé $30 delivered direct in any 3pk
  • 2020 Houghton Jack Mann Cabernet Sauvignon $85/3pk @ Cellar One (referrals)

Looks like Cru Bar sold out of Serrat SV. Anyone know of availability elsewhere? I’m actually on Serrat mailing list but inexplicably delayed buying. Should know better.

Yep, I've had issues finding it in the past. I almost didn't buy this year because of the expensive shipping costs, but I haven't seen it cheaper elsewhere yet (including this Cru Bar deal).

Will let you know if I see any...

Has anyone tried the Coldstream Hills Esplanade? It seems to get mixed reviews (eg Campbell Mattinson gave the 2021 96 pts while Gary Walsh gave it 91+).

JD#626 seems to be 2015 Archery Rd Bullseye, down from '$130' to $32.50.

JD email uses the Sam Kim quote that appears on the Archery Rd website, but weirdly says 95pts from 'anon' rather than the 97pts quoted on the maker's site.

It all looks pretty dodge but maybe this a case of sellers voluntarily discounting Mr Kim's score in the interests of credibility?

i know very little about wine, but I got a few of them included in a recent deal, ive chucked it in the cabinet hoping to forget about it and then hoping it will be maginficinet in 10 years or so

is this really a $30 bottle?

I wish I knew whether it was a $130 bottle for $32, a $32 bottle masquerading as a $130 bottle, an overpriced bottle even at $32, or something else altogether...

someone is ripping off the websites of Different Drop, World Wine, Annandale Cellars - maybe try and use them for price matching elsewhere?

Interesting - a bit of a deep dive suggests that their wines are made by Ben Wurst, who also makes wine for Reschke / Schoolhouse / Stonehaven / CW Wines, as well as Terramore.

if you had searched this thread earlier, then you could've found it somewhere cheaper than direct - it might still be possible if another receives it again :)

WARNING: Those "ripoff" sites are almost certainly fake websites designed to take your details, use your card illegally, and possibly worse. As they say - if it's too good to be true.... I mean, Yarra yering at 70% off!
