Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

(had to split my post in two as I had exceeded 10000 characters :))

My CM orders were a case of Riversdale estate Chardonnay and a case of their reserve Pinot, both 2014. After visiting their cellar door in Tasmania I've ordered few of their vintages and was happy with the quality so far. Good value at $20 p/bottle IMO.

I went for the Riversdale Centaurus. Luckily I had a load of wish cards already so I got the wine for $7 in total after all the discounts, so technically I think my buying embargo is still intact...

@boomy and @georgehall - how's the 2014 Riversdale Reserve Centaurus Pinot Noir?

Petaluma Coonawarra (aka yellow label) delivered this morning. Awesomeness.

Good that Gray's honoured their flawed listing this time :)

Boomed on 6 of the Punt Road Naploleone Vineyard 2015 Pinot for ~$21 a bottle, hopefully it's as good as TWF & Vivino user comments suggest.

Surprised that you didn't buy it sooner for less given all my spruiking in the pinot thread :)

For me the standouts are

2011 Tim Adams Reserve Clare Valley Riesling - 25 % OFF | $28.98 A Bottle | crackawines
2013 Kooyong Estate Pinot Noir - 21 % OFF | $45.99 A Bottle | crackawines

Don't forget 8.75% cashback from Cracka ATM too.

Others worth considering with a $50 voucher are/were 2016 Nick Spencer Tumbarumba Chardonnay $24.65 and 2014 Vietti Perbacco Langhe $40.66, with the latter currently 2-for-$80 in-store at Boccaccio.

Ah gotcha. Thought someone managed to dig up another one like the one they had in Winestate magazine or some trade/membership thing.

When did Winestate have a Langton's code? The Vintec $50/$100 vouchers are still good :)

Sure am.

There is many different types of sales, including Friends and Family sales. This particular one was oriented towards staff.

Wasn't it the monthly Carpe Diem sale, which prices are available on the public website as per @Steady's post?

I salute your $50 voucher reserves!

Not sure about reserves given that each voucher can be good for nine orders :)

Cellardoor.co:
  • Coldstream Hills Deer Farm Pinot Noir 2015 $31
  • Coldstream Hills Reserve Chardonnay 2015 $42
  • Seppelt Show Sparkling Shiraz 2007 $50
  • Seppelt St Peters Grampians Shiraz 2014 $45
  • Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz 2015 $67
  • Penfolds Icon Bin Collection 2017 $306 ($51/bt):
    • 2 x 2015 Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz
    • 2 x 2015 Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon
    • 2 x 2015 Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz
I thought I had a 'good' login for cellardoor.co but can't see any of these :(

Wow qaz. Thanks for the info. Sent PM - not sure if i did pm correctly though (start conversation?)

Before leaving with some deals at Nick’s and Dan’s which you might have missed, as well as others at Cellardoor.co and McWilliam’s that shouldn’t be, does anyone know why several wines have suddenly become out of stock at My Wine Guy? I’m not a member of Red Bigot, but is there a code circulating?

I havent seen a code for MyWineGuy, but I picked up a few referral credits - via the 'incognito pack' that got listed on OzB. Its back in stock now, just not real sure what to make of it though in all honesty.

This is awesome, however I'm seeing the prices as being $290/280/200/160 respectively, listed as member prices. I have not made an account nor logged in. Am I missing something?

Same. And it wants a confirmation code?

Can anyone see this on their account @ Cellar Door?

That is a great post qaz and like unfunkable I don't see any 389s.

Just noticed as well Wynns Coonawarra Black Label Shiraz 2013 on CM for $169
Use a $50 coupon, add $1.2 shipping, then use the amex spend $120/20 back to make it close to $100 less $12 for cash rewards makes it $15 per bottle.
Looks like it has very decent cellaring potential as well!

It's a good price. But I'm not sure that I'd call 2025 decent cellaring potential.

The 2013 can cellar to 2048 according to Halliday according to wine companion :)

Just how accurate is he anyway?...more accurate then me I would say
Unfortunately Halliday is usually extremely generous with his cellaring guides and in my experience often wrong.

Note that Wynns say to 2025:

https://www.wynns.com.au/~/media/Fi.../Wynns-Coonawarra-Black-Label-Shiraz-2013.pdf

Producers of wine are usually conservative in listing their expected cellaring times, but there is a big difference between 2025 and 2048. I'd be erring on the side of Wynns.

I don't know about the other two, but DM has RRP 2015 Bin 389 at $79.90 / $75.90 in any six.
St Henri 2014 is $98.90 / $93.90.
Can't remember them being this high?

That's about their normal price at DM. Don't know who is stupid enough to pay that price though!

I've bought 389 for under $50 and St Henri for under $65 within the last 12 months.
