Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I came across this last week, ordered 3, then it changed to a different price before being removed from the site (cellardoor.co) before I could share. Payment was processed and the 9 cases shipped last Friday - sadly I got the call I was expecting last night, telling me the wine has been recalled through AP, and I would be refunded.
If this was you and it turned up and was available to pickup - would you? (I recall this happening to some Qantas wine champagne deliveries in the not to distant past)

During the call I was asked to not pick it up if it arrived, my payment has not been refunded yet.

Pick up one and leave the rest?

Depends how angry you feel over this. The QF deal was decent but discount wasn’t that massive (priced as 375ml instead of 750ml IIRC). These days it could almost be another 50% off deal. Yours was a bit better :)

Maybe if was delivered then you could consider keeping it and tell them to keep the money but pick up is too deliberate, especially when specifically asked not do it.

In for a couple cases - thanks electrotek.
Seldom seen offers like this are a little risky, but a winery like UMAMU
isn't likely to sell of badly substandard wines IMO. Outlay not that high.
Probably the best buy from here, ever, was a doz WOODS CRAMPTON at
same $$'s, loved every one of them and should have bought a car load 😁

Send someone else from your household to do the pick up.
It makes the occurrence seem unfortunate rather than deliberate.
Then they will have to work somewhat harder to get the product back.
my guess is, they won’t 😎

Or maybe Aussie Post will do what Aussie Post's do best - dump the delivery on your front porch, ring the bell then bolt.

I would be collecting them 100% and returning them if requested to do so - just plead insanity if questioned

And never NEVER post what you do here or anywhere - established medical fact that our minds are not as sharp as when we were younger and we often make little mistakes as we get older

Yes, we get confused as we get older, "was that a bottle I bought or a case? Oh well it must have been a case"

I got an email from Penfolds last night inviting me to a 5 part webinar series on the wines below.

There was also a "full series + grange" on offer when I made my order selling for $950.

2 x Bin 28 are on their way to me for my trouble.

wouldn't you have to collect them in case the 2 x Bin 28 they sent for your trouble is included? :)

Might be some bargains amongst this lot? I don't have time to sift through, but noticed Saracen Estate hat some heavy discounts. Anyone familiar with their wines? The Reserve Cabernet 2012 looks interesting at $25? (93 JH)
