Weird, supposedly a delivery only offer, yet I can see stock available at Prahran too. Doesn't help that I'm located in NSW sigh.
For those who want to aid a bushfire fundraiser, Umamu Estate in WA is offering a lucky dip of aged wines for only $100 shipped, with all proceeds going to Blaze Aid & WIRES.
Thanks for sharing. I was so hoping they would be reds. But showing a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc Semilion on the actual advertisement I'm now wondering if that will be what everyone gets. 92 points BE (for WC) For $100 and donated, still should be happy. Was delivered today - got a dozen 2009 Sauvignon Blanc Semilion
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Drink By 2014They said they'd aim to send different wines if order >1 case, so there should be more than 1 wine type going out. My delivery is still in the hands of the Australia Post gods.
JH review on the 2009 SBS: Vibrant green hue; a youthful and expressive bouquet showing citrus, straw and a dollop of toasty oak; nice tension in texture and acidity provide a long and fresh finish. (92 points)
I visited Iron Gate before, their wine is average or not good. not worth to buy it, but if free...
Who reviwed it? I only have the hardcopy which states BE, doesn't seem to be in current WC team. JH surely would have added another 10 years on. Mind you I've had a few older whites lately that I quite enjoyed. One was a 2006 Pinot Gris, which are generally drink now varieties I think.Drink By 2014
BE = Ben Edwards former president of Sommeliers Australia, was part of the new Halliday team back then, seems to have faded into obscurity now. SSB/SBS are not renowned for longevity, but screwcap seals help. I obviously have no experience with this style of wine. Old Hunter Semillons and Tahbilk Marsanne I do have some distant memories of.Who reviwed it? I only have the hardcopy which said BE, doesn't seem to be in current WC team. I expect to receive the sem/sb although there may be an odd red box for a lucky few
They are , after all, giving it away plus paying the postage.
All for a good cause
Using gift cards is fine on DM. What they are saying is you can't 'purchase gift cards'. I've had another reply to my recent non exeptance of the missing cashback rejection. They now say they are investigating further, as quote "we have just been made aware of an ongoing sales reporting issue from Dan Murphys end. This may have caused a delay in your order being tracked in the system" who knows what to believe
Yeah, my first thought was museum = reds, but they delay releases. I'm betting on the 2009 or 2013 Sauv Blanc based on what is being sold around the traps. 2009 is $22 at Dans, drink by 2021.As prev. posted, ordered two boxs from Umamu, after a few days enquired by way of email as to contents, "are there any reds"?
Rec'd following from them -
"Thank you for yours and support.
All depends but typically white to start then we might add in red or a different white/ vintage when there are more cases bought per person.
In your case we sent one white and one red from our museum."
So - more than one box ordered, might get some reds, which in this case I'm very happy about
Very nice jesture by UMAMU for a good cause, thank you Charmaine, UMAMU for the prompt reply.
