Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Thankas Adelaidians, i'm sitting out of the hunt for these. I've spent my budget on the recent VC and FC deals which seem to make these deals not that great in comparison.

Had a bit of a brain fat - Canberra City not centre.
Oh, that weird little one... I never thought to go in there. Maybe I should if there's some chance of it being better than dickson...

Gilbert St store had Eileen Hardy 15 & Octavius 14 under $60 so grabbed a few + the Johanns 16 @ $28.

Noticed shelf price was higher than online. Not much else around the other stores.
Wow, those are good prices. Lucky you lot

Nothing is showing online unfortunately, maybe in-store? I'll swing by to check.

I can't find any of the good stuff in actual clearance but grabbed a bottle here and there and will collect later this week when I have time and see if any stock is left :/

It’s possible to price match at BWS. Worth to try if the store manager is there, they are the only ones with the authority to do that since it’s not an official policy.

haha do you really want to know? ... i dont want you to feel bad.

Yeah? I know there was one at Dan's recently. I wanna know, I deal with disappointment better these days lol

I'm not fussed, I mean there will always be deals people miss out on otherwise you'd end up spending 5-10k a yr on wine you don't drink haha

I mean I was one of the few who got 12 bottles of St Hugo's for 10 a piece ;)

There used to be some decent stuff at the Mawson, sometimes at Woden too but seem to have dried up in the last 12 months. Seems like Canberra Centre is the only place with anything worth getting. Kambah had a lone bottle of $30 Euphonium and that's about it.
I had bought some Grant Burge Miamba for under $15 (a great price I reckon but pales in comparison to some of the bargains scored here, eg WB grey etc), and when I fronted at Kambah to pick them up the guy said "you're here for the Henschke?". Of course I said yes but the jig was up when i produced my licence. So there may have been a few bargains early on. May, but probably not.

oh in that case, nothing that special! how did you get $10 st hugo's?

Liquorland I think 3 for 36 or 4 for 40
I then got Dan's to price match before they told me not to try another store haha

I got Pepperjack premium for $10 from there too

Basically got the last bottles at one store in SA, so we all miss deals! Cant win them all

Dan's won't have enough Black Label to honour all these purchases. Will be interesting if they substitute or just start cancelling. Pick these up as soon as you can, people.
They are still selling to Canberra. I've asked for two with free delivery. Is there an advantage to going to pick up, in terms of choosing the vintage, or are we mainly just getting delivered and taking pot luck?

Did anyone find any decent under wraps? The free delivery via app looked like there was quite a few good ones with massive savings on paper! Hard to bite the bullet tho

Thanks! I remember their Shiraz wasn’t too bad, anybody tried their Nebbiolo?
Not the straight Neb but the Quattro Vitigni.I remember it being relatively savoury and acidic (good points to me).

The hard thing to find in Aussie Neb is the severe tannins you get from the Langhe
