beauty, dad collected when we were young, grew up with it. It was $18 a bottle back then when he loaded up though.Anyone tried the Reynella Basket Press Shiraz 2017? It's available on Cellarone for $37 a bottle, not much info available about it online.

I'd translate that as shill bidding (illegal), Artificially raising price, they either get outbid WIN, or get their product back without to much loss WIN... just fraudulent.I have a friend who used to work in the wine industry. Sometimes they would auction excess stock with Grays. If the bidding was low, they would buy it back themselves so that the label would not be diminshed. In fact, they saw it as a form of advertising if they needed to do this to help preserve the prices of their product. Yes there was a cost to them in doing this, but better than letting it be seen being sold too cheap.
From my personal experience, aim for something at around a $40 RRP and purchase on special for around $20. There are a few really decent quaffer wines that are always around the $20 that can be had even cheaper (ie. Epsilon, Crampton White, Sons of Eden) i don't think I've come across a $5 wine that I've found worth drinking... Maybe a few $10, or Church Block at $15 on special. (Not taking into account stuff like Reynella cellar release that many of us picked up for $4)Any $5-7 recommendations? It seems all the Instagram wine drinking experts really love wine and that's about how much they spend a bottle.
Are we getting ripped off paying $20+ hahaha
Gotta buy some $5 wine and see how it compares

Wynn’s CSM for $5 was a decent wine.

Also,
Reynella Shiraz 2015 ($4)
Leconfield Cab Sav 2015 ($5)
Wynns Black Label Cab Sav 2016 ($8)
Every now and then a good deal for quality wine at quaffer price comes up such as the recent WB Grey allowing us to drink decent wines any day, avoiding real quaffers.
were these recent deals boomy?

Chalambar is a fantastic wine. Even at the full cellardoor $16 a bottlewhich quaffer wins? cellardoor.co. I'm leaning towards Chalambar
Seppelt Chalambar Shiraz 2017 ($76 after credit) VS Penfolds Koonunga Hill Seventy Six Shiraz Cabernet 2018 ($67 after credit)
I went the chalambar, $76 was too good to pass up. I personally think it's better than a quaffer, especially with some cellar timewhich quaffer wins? cellardoor.co. I'm leaning towards Chalambar
