Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Go to the Wynns website and sign up, use code WYNNS25 and a bottle of black label Shiraz 2012 comes down to $11 delivered. It was working last night so assume still working today

One more for today. Go to penfolds site

join the newsletter. This gives 10% off current prices and free shipping. Use code SINGAPORE25 (can be a bit fiddly applying the code for some reason) to take off $25 which makes a couple of options worthwhile. Bin 28 either 2017 or 2018 for $20 delivered or bottle of father grand tawny for $7 probably some others that might be reasonable deals but that seems like the best two

Champion! Thanks for sharing.

Unlikely to be as useful as the other discounts offered earlier today, but the following from taylorswines.com.au may work for some:

"BDYSEP20

You can spend your $50 birthday gift by applying the discount code to your choice of:

1 or more of the Specialty Packs on offer

1 or more bottles of either The Visionary or The Pioneer

Any 6 or more single bottles of wine

Remember, the discount will only apply when you are logged in to your customer account and have entered the discount code. If you haven't already click below to create a free customer account."

This for $60 including postage may interest some:

Kalimna is a remarkable wine. I had a 1999 last night. Although the $45 RRP is outrageous. I had no hesitation in getting a bottle of the 2018 for $20. I would have bought 100 at that price.
Totally agree. Incidentally, a bottle of 1990 Kalimna was consumed 2 nights ago. Amazingly youthful and still have much life in it. I have no doubt that a good vintage is likely to live 25+ years comfortably.

Click on My Account > Dashboard > Cellar Dollars (on the left) > scroll down to where it says 'registered as a customer'

Should be an expiry date on the right - it looks like they expire after 30 days.
Appears to be longer than 30 days as I still have a "live" credit passed 50 days.

Great deals today!
Opened up my first of the 2017 Twisted Trunk (GWD offer many of us jumped on).

I’m not great at describing wines in terms of tasting notes, but I’m finding it very enjoyable. Definitely opens up after 1-2 hours of decanting.
i can’t talk for $180 RRP wines, but at $20 I am very happy with the purchase.

Anyone else cracked one yet?

Thanks for all the review and advice on Bin28.
One question I have is the quality of Penfold today compare to 20-30 years ago. With the increase in production, do you guys think the quality will do down accordingly? Not the same care or even the same grape will go into the same label? Haven’t done extensive research and a bit of gut feel.

1 - 2 yrs ago I went to Penfolds tasting, the guy said " as we know 389 is called poor man's Grange. 28 is called poor man's 389." How poor I am, I just ordered one bin28.
Maybe Koonunga hill Shiraz will be called poor man's 28 in the future.😁😁
Poor? It's not you, it's Penfolds. Cost of Bin28 is what 389 was not so many years ago. (and I remember Grange@<$20ea in 1980 if bought by the doz, just posting this bargain, 40 years too late).

I called late last week to follow up on mine. It was sold as a pre order. So they ordered from the supplier after receiving the customer orders and then ship one it arrives. My shipping notification came on Friday. So you may hear in the next day or 2

From memory, which is only slightly better than "a bit of a gut feel" as you say, some years ago they reduced the amount of wine from the barossa kalimna vineyard that actually goes into Kalimna. What does the current label say...may contain traces of kalimna?

'Bin 28 is named after the famous Barossa Valley Kalimna vineyard purchased by Penfolds in 1945 and from which the wine was originally sourced. Today, Bin 28 is a multi-region, multi-vineyard blend, with the Barossa Valley always well represented, providing 45% of the fruit for this vintage' ....From Penfolds.

Soon it may be "May contain traces of Barossa"🤣

Thanks for the $25 TWE discounts.

Just grabbed a 2017 Kalimna on Penfolds for $20 (using SINGAPORE25), a PX fortified ($29) and 2012 Black Label Shiraz ($11) on Wynns (using WYNNS25 and BIRTHDAY25) and a Squealing Pig mixed pack for $50 on Cellar Door (using UNLOCKEDBDAY)... :)

Just a heads up, don't use Paypal with the Wynn's website:
This transaction is currently pending compliance review. Please do not try to send the payment again until you hear from PayPal. If the compliance team has any questions for you regarding the payment, the team will email you. Thank you for your patience.

Most likely I will have to hassle Wynn to process the refund because Wynn's system thought the transaction was cancelled but it is merely on hold, and Wynn would receive the fund but with no order record once Paypal waves the transaction through.

And yet another TWE $25 offer: BIRTHDAY25 is valid on Seppelt.

Usual drill: sign up to the mailing list for 10% off and free shipping...

(EDIT St Peters shiraz $47 shipped)

FURTHER EDIT - BIRTHDAY25 also working on Coldstream Hills.

EVEN MORE EDITS - BIRTHDAY20 for Saltram (i.e. only $20 off)...

MORE - BIRTHDAY19 for Wolf Blass gives $25 off.

Had the same issue yesterday but later got this from Paypal " Your payment of $11.00 AUD to WYNNS on 12 Sep 2020 has been reversed" so all good.
