Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

It turned out to be a dud IMHO. @Whining&dining was spot on in his description. It was flat, way too thin and lacked a substance, hardly any follow through. Not something I would expect form a Barossa shiraz at $70 RRP I may have gotten heat damaged stock, I dunno. Nice looking bottle though lol Live and learn.
I was half hoping for your sake that I was mistaken but it makes you wonder if they ever lived up to the RRP, once bitten twice shy....

Bad wine now is still bad wine after cellaring. Better to send it back now for a refund than tipping it down the sink in a couple years, my 2c
Is it best to wait for delivery and open a bottle to confirm my suspicions? Or should I just raise my concerns with Cellar One over the case sitting in a van all day and then returning to a warehouse?

I was looking but it’s hard to get a real feel for exactly what the wines are without a bit of investigative work.

With storage limited now after some great bargains in the last quarter it might see me giving it a miss

Seems they get to $1200 rrp by putting in two bottles of 2012 monolith... which hilariously, they also sell for $35 despite the $300 'rrp'

Anyone know anything about seppelt original sparkling shiraz vintage vs NV?

I wasn't even aware they did a vintage version but it appears they do - can't see much mention online of since when or why though.

Pricing doesn't seem any different so it doesn't seem to be a premium offering.. just curious

They used to be vintage. Now NV

22% cash back at First Choice via shopback. No limit mentioned (yet). Offer from 12pm to 11.59pm today.
I signed up to Shopback but the last few purchases aren't tracking at the right levels, for a few dollars here and there it seems like a lot of effort to have to chase up, is the general experience more seamless than mine?

22% is more than just a 'few' dollars.

Shopback does have a history of issues. Although lately, for me at least, its been running smoothly. Conversely I've been having a few issues with Cashrewards recently.

The key thing is to keep screen shots of everything and be prepared to chase them. Sometime chase them hard. Although I've become sick of doing this and have recently indicted to them very clearly that I'll be reporting their conduct to Fair Trading for engaging in misleading and deceptive conduct. So far I've not had to do this, but be prepared to follow through and have the evidence to back up your claims.

The original was a vintage wine until 2015, being the last year and the first year they swapped over to NV. The vintage was always a well regarded value for money sparkling shiraz that had some aging potential. Used to be a regular buy for me. The NV quality isn't nearly as good and I've stopped buying.
