I picked up a 2014 Yeoman as a Winedirect bonus as well, ended up fetching $109 at Langtons, so others dont mind paying around that price for it at least. They sure are very different wines with 389 Cab Sav component giving it such great and structured finish. I can only go by my own experiences, I had a look yesterday and the Yeoman that I had was 2014 vintage - still have one bottle left curtesy of WineDirect bonus. Personally I would not call it a monster Shiraz but it is a very nice wine. Me and my mate with whom I had a pleasure drinking this (we split a case from WineDirect and shared the bonus bottle of The Yeoman at a BYO) came to the same conclusion re its worth. YMMV as per usual.
PS it is a very impressive looking bottle with wax enclosure and bling etc... and quite heavy - I surely wouldn't want to get hit in the head with that!
I would happily sell mine for $109 if I could!I picked up a 2014 Yeoman as a Winedirect bonus as well, ended up fetching $109 at Langtons, so others dont mind paying around that price for it at least.
My order from Cloudwine wss delivered todsy in Melbourne by Fastway and left at front door as per my instructions as that area is in the shade. Yesterdsy a Courierd Please driver left my Grape Belief oorter at the bottom of the stairs in the open exposed to the sun and or being stolen. My instructions were at the front foor where it is shady and you cannot see the door area.Pretty disappointed with Coudwine.
Lucky I was home, I did agree to have wine left at the front door. However I have pull down outdoor blinds on the front porch, and they weren't completely shut. You can easily pull 1 up with 2 fingers. Whoever left the wine, left it literally outside facing the sun! It would of been destroyed, had I not noticed it. It's 33 today aswell.
I did send them a email, I mean commonsense. :/
I know some companies won't even deliver on hot days. I better left clear instructions next time
I got that email too.. it seems shady as they asked to login with some default password etc so best to exercise caution.Penfolds.com sent through an email. Any 6 Max's + 1 Bin 389 for $180
Grape Belief have some sharp pricing but it comes at the expense of shipping. They use the cheapest possible couriers which is a shame because they do make an effort to apply heat policy (at least for more expensive bottles) but it’s kinda pointless if the delivery is not done correctly. My order from Cloudwine wss delivered todsy in Melbourne by Fastway and left at front door as per my instructions as that area is in the shade. Bit odd that password reset thing, but if you go to the main site direct using your browser and try to login, you get a popup saying you need to reset...I got that email too.. it seems shady as they asked to login with some default password etc so best to exercise caution.
I don’t believe it’s a scam,I got that email too.. it seems shady as they asked to login with some default password etc so best to exercise caution.
Agree. This type of activity is not uncommon. I've no concern at all.I don’t believe it’s a scam,
So the next question is whether the deal is any good. I've no experience of Max's but if we say the 389 is $65 (which seems about the price I'd consider good value), is $23 for Max's decent?Agree. This type of activity is not uncommon. I've no concern at all.
Got that email. Didn't have any concern about the password change story but the deal itself is not attractive to me. You could get so much more than 389 and Max's for that value. So the next question is whether the deal is any good. $23 is the everyday price for Max's and I don't see it being particularly good value at that price. There are plenty of better options in the $20-25 range. I bought a dozen of Max's from Liquorland last April at $10ea and I was not blown away by the first one I tried even for the price. That was the 2018 and I'll be trying it again soon to see if another year has done it any favoursSo the next question is whether the deal is any good. I've no experience of Max's but if we say the 389 is $65 (which seems about the price I'd consider good value), is $23 for Max's decent?
