Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

That's very cheap for those wines. Well spotted. Wonder why they'd be closing/selling off

Any reviews/advice on the 2016 vs 2017 Shiraz?
Looks like positive reviews for both.

Fair difference in alcohol % between them, according to their website (13.4% vs 14.2%).
Should have made it clearer, that the above question was in relation to the Caillard Shiraz.
Has anyone tried either vintage? Reviews?

I bought some of the 16 shiraz a while back based on the ratings and descriptions. Was nicely made. Needed a good breathe. Not amazing but cld be very nice with a bit more time. And at close to $20 that seems good value to me.

I am asking for 2017 vintage for both Shiraz and Mataro based on The Wine Front review for 2017 Shiraz

"One of those ‘elegant’ Barossa shiraz that celebrates heartland depth and concentration but finds detail, a ripple of fine, silty tannins and offers shape and detail to elevate the offering. Medium weight with plummy fruit, a dusting of warm, brown spice, a touch of walnut and dark chocolate in the mix, panforte comes to mind, and there’s a little attractive salt bush and char to finish. Long, lively and tightly wound, but enough succulent yield to seduce. Beautiful shiraz from any angle. - The Wine Front"

And for Mataro 2017 - (I really enjoy a well made Mataro!)

"Rich, savoury red of medium weight, fine grip and general sense of vitality. Redolent of dark berries, char and pot pourri with faint game meat notes wafting around. The palate is brighter than expected from that sweet earthy hit of perfume, lifted on blood orange acidity and cinched with a web of fine and firming, feathery tannins. It’s deeply flavoured yet filigreed and fresh. A succulent, delicious and classy red of strong regional character. A delight. - The Wine Front"

I also bought the 2016 after chatting with Bobby. I agree with Bill’s description.
It really needed time to breath - I remember being caught off guard by it but enjoying it more and more with time.
I also put the rest away thinking time in the bottle would be an advantage.

After speaking to Boozebud, I can confirm Melbourne ships out 2018 Wynn's Black Label Cab Sav, and Sydney is shipping out 2015.

If this interests anyone, unfortunately SA receives via Melbourne.
Thanks for the heads up. Completes my trio of highly rated vintages along with the 10 and 12

Is there a random mail forwarding service from Sydney, which is cheap? 😂

Yeah, 2015s for $18 would be amazing. I can't imagine they have that much stock left. He said no way they can ship me from Sydney which I couldn't understand why. My best bet is $25-26 from FC with CB.

Only tried the 17 Andrew.
forget everything preconception you have about Barossa Shiraz.
its elegant, leaner and fragrant.
Overall both this and the 17 Mataro are very well made wines, shy on day one, singing on day 2.

Set up a Melbourne Australia post parcel collect. Once delivered, forward it to your Sydney parcel collect address. They state the fee is $6.95 redirection but it’s normally free.

or as soon as the tracking number is in their system, when your delivery is "being prepared" or "on its way" - before the shipment is delivered - redirect it anywhere for free? :)

That's not bad. I was expecting 6 random sauv blancs lol
I’ll be very disappointed if I get 6 Sauvignon Blancs!!
😊

Did you try the strategy of finding a case with low numbers of stock?
