Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

The first 3 tasting notes supplied are from Sam Kim, James Halliday, Gary Walsh on TWF. Maybe that should instil a little confidence?
thanks for the reply. it seems pretty good from the description, but not sure if it is a good value. I have seen this on offer before. just a bit wary of RRP. some of the winery inflate a lot on RRP these days. have you had this before?

Price is correct for the winery price, it's $95 on Qantas Wine, with 10,000 bonus points. Actually, it's $79.99pb in 6-packs with the 10,000 BP now,
It was $55 at My Wine Guy a while back, no longer.

The blue poles reserve merlot is very good, this year they have something special, can’t wait to try that out.

The Liquorland sale this week seems nowhere near as good as last. I was able to get some Hugo's even though I'm not a cab Sauv drinker, along with some jaraman shiraz-, Max's and torbreck.

it must be my luck but went to a Liquorland store today that had the St Hugo cab sav. It was full price. Even got the guy to ring through numerous bottles and all came up full price. Same happened with me at another store on the Torbreck

Pretty sure every Liquorland store in QLD is now out of stock on the Torbreck! Definitely still being advertised as 4 for $40 in Brisbane, but I think I might have picked up the last two bottles in the State. Would love more if anyone spots any! :)

I love Bethany wines and I think their rrp is very reasonable for the quality. I'd just like to share something that happened when I visited the winery, only been there once, and when I went to pay for wine the lady said "I recognise you"! I said no I've never been here before but she said yes I recognise your credit card number from your online orders, and told me where I lived (I really just buy for personal consumption). What a memory.

Get Wines Direct have 'free' DRAYTONS FAMILY BELLEVUE HERITAGE GRAND RESERVE HUNTER VALLEY SEMILLON with $100 spend with Freesemillon. Notional RRP is nonsense, but they have previously offered straight dozens for $80 which is a very good deal in itself.
Orders must be 12 - 15 bottles, so snap up 1 - 3 of their superior drops, mine came to $150 including Freight, so effectively got the top ups for $70.
Note, last time they did this they sold out the Semillon & offered a similar deal with the Chardonnay a few days later. Alas no Moet to reach the $threshold this time, but plenty of options depending on your taste. Oh, and the code is single use only 😁

After trying Draytons semillon I was quite impressed. No it doesn’t worth $90, not even close but it’s perfectly acceptable $20 afternoon quaffer or to accompany with spicy food. The Old Block Shiraz was nice bonus :)

Half decent price on Dandelion Lionheart of the Barossa Shiraz 2018 - winery direct

10% off RRP plus 20% off for dozen buy plus $75 voucher code WELCOME. Comes back at $15.35 each.

$75 WELCOME voucher also works at Heirloom

I’m now restricting myself to a maximum of 6 bottles of anything I buy, it was looking good in this one with the voucher being accepted and the price reduced to $87 for 6, all the way up until final payment....

Just back from Costco Lidcombe. Very very quiet.
Saw a guy loading trolley with all displayed stocks of Tatachilla Foundation Shiraz for $29.99.
Didn't get to see vintage. DM have 2009 vintage for $46.55
Jason just some google sleuth work, this guy mentions it is the the 2000 vintage, not sure if typo but decent age!!!

Rated 91/100 by Wine Front and drink by 2008!

Just realized that post was 2017! But probably still a cellar release.

The website specifically states:

'Closure Screw Cap'

I'm not concerned either way and in fact would actually prefer cork.
Interested in that comment! I prefer all my wines in screw cap, if a Grange was corked I would be mortified.
