Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

The FC I went to still has plenty WB Black at $60 but nothing else interesting in the wine department.

For anyone who appreciates good single malts this one is a bargain!

bummer, I called up 3 stores near me,
2 had none,
1 had it for $216,

tried to price match but unsurpirsngly didnt work :(

Went back to Dan's to pick up a few more bottles.

They had Mount Pleasant Maurice O'Shea Shiraz for $75. Its pushing for what i like to pay for any wine, but does that sound like a good price? Think it may have been the 2009?

As well as 2013 Mount Langi Ghiran Langi Shiraz for $80, and 2008 Sorby Adams The Thing for $70 i think

I’d happily pay that for the O’Shea. No decent EOFY items at my local Dans. Where are you shopping for these? Were the prices in-store only, or could you see them online?

I went to an FC in Canberra today. Woeful range, nothing but the odd $10 off a $40 bottle. Seems FCs elsewhere are very different... Why is it so? Thought they were a national chain

2013 Langi for that price is very good. It seems to have had a more stratospheric rise than any other Aussie premium in recent years... current vintage will cost you $150 or so.

$216 is already very good price. This is how much I paid at VC two weeks ago for the same item. Now I’m tossing either to return one or keep both. Decisions decisions...

They’ve had The Thing as a secret selection for $30, I have one sleeping in the wine fridge for a few more years.

I know exactly how you feel :)

if you had told me it was $216 on clearnace, I would have jumped on it, but since its available to you for $159, decisions decisions decisions,

I think I answered my own question, there was a few left, so I might pick them all up

edit: they called me back, they got the stock code wrong and had zero stock!

I’d say you are about a month too late unfortunately. I bought a bunch of WB Black and some other things (premium and not) at good pricing, but it went quickly

WB black and Plat were not very popular and stayed on the shelves for weeks. Today the FC I visited had at least six bottles of the black at $60 so it’s not too late.
