Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

The nice ppl at TWC said they missed me on two accounts and asked why. I filled in a short survey saying their prices were too high and they gave me $60 worth of points on both. I've so far bought two 2106 Dalwhinnie Moonambel C/S for $17 each delivered, down from $40 each pls post. Seems nice of them to do for someone who doesn't buy anything as they are too exy...
Nice. They've definitely fallen off my radar - they used to have some good clearance items but now everything is always full RRP.

They sent me a 20% off anything text recently as I hadn't purchased in a long time.

Just to divert attention away from the BWS feeding frenzy James Dominguez Secret Offer #793 is
Down from $75 to $30, plenty of bling and accolades. Had some excellent reds from Amelia Park via VM in years gone by, cost of living crunch is biting though...

The video title says Amelia Park Cabernet Merlot 2012 which has never been $70 - it's a $30ish bottle of wine. Can you clarify the wine & year please? I'd assume it's the Reserve Cabernet or Shiraz at that RRP. It's a good price for the reserve. Currently $47 on finewineco.

Maybe just for the completeness sake - here is MR 2012 vintage report

In particular "Margaret River’s 2012 vintage was something truly special. Chardonnay is intense, full flavoured with a citrus line, minerality and weight, length and complexity. Reds, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon has shown intense colour, mulberry and blueberry aromas and concentrated red currant flavours, lovely fine extended tannins, elegance and generosity.

A nice wine from memory. Assume this comes direct from the winery, so the storage would be solid. Tempting!

Thanks for sharing. The content says "Compare $75" - I don't see reference to RRP - so I guess it's a cheeky "Because it's aged you ain't gonna find it cheap, and the cheapest we found is $75 so we'll mention that". As indeed AP does (thanks w&d). Checked my notes and, indeed, bought it from Vinomofo in 2015... for $8.70 a bottle. Said to drink by 2022.

Those Amelia Parks were a great Fo find and we all enjoyed them immensely. I got under the house recently and found one left of one of the best wines ever from the Fo, the wine which started me buying their stuff in the Glenlofty Pyrenees 2011 shiraz . Had it with my brother and it blew my socks off as I ended up going home in thongs. I reckon it had similar regalia to the Amelia Park to be honest, maybe better. All that from a nine bucker, at the time to be fair.

Can only concur with you BF, 2011 in the Barossa was an annus horribilis as we all know but an annus mirabilis in other parts of this sunburnt country and Glenlofty nailed it. Shame that dead-set bargains on the Fo are getting rarer than rocking horse droppings, I'm just in the process of bundling up a another dozen to return, I'm probably returning 50% of the wines I purchase through them these days, this particular return was a partial store credit for a previous return, it's getting embarrassing to say the least 😐

Wine deals..picked up the FOs Jim Brand Coonawarra The Persuit Cabernet 2021 a month ago as a Black Market and had one last saturday night. Very impressed i have to say. So refined and smooth , not too tannic and a real winner. Twas $55 cough cough, with a twenny busker saving a free freight, 99.60 for 6. Very nice. Good to see you are still throwing out the lure but kissin em and returning em must be a chore. However, great returns Fo policy.

Just a heads up that this appears to still be working, despite the original email saying it would expire last Sunday. Stacks with store credit too. If anyone would like a referral, PM me.
Yeah weird, but I used it on some shadrach and now it's very meanly telling me I can't use it again. And my other accounts, I mean my family's, don't seem to qualify (somehow cellarone doesn't miss them as much as moi). Booooo

Were the family accounts (lol) created more recently?

Pick of the bunch seems to be the St Hallett Higher Earth Syrah at $144 for 6 after the discount. I have an extra $30 store credit which is tempting me...

If my family accounts were eligible I was going to go for the croser picadilly valley vintage sparkling. Would have been close to half price at $23 for some nice bubbles.
