Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

So you're okay if a member on here misses out on a deal because you have a 1 in 276 chance of a referral?
I see what you mean, however any deal posted here is in the public domain and any leech/lurker can post it on OzB. Nobody can do anything about it unless this gets locked up as a private forum, but even then it would not be immune to leaking on OzB.

All that said I didn't think it was a super bargain.

Maybe I'm lucky then since I've gotten 3 or 4 sign ups from there when popular deals are posted.

I didn't post it on ozbargain, it wasn't some super hidden deal that was only available to people on this forum. It's just a nice bonus to get some credits come through, don't know why I should feel bad for that.

I bought, but I was a bit hesitant. I got some Katnook Estate Cabernet in one of the deals a while ago and it was completely underwhelming.
I had a $20 voucher to use and thought the 2021 Petaluma B&V shiraz was a better punt than the Katnook as I've also been underwhelmed by it previously. Currently on at $25 (RRP $55) with some good reviews although i've not tried this one before.

I agree, I had Katnook Estate Cab Sav multiple vintages incl a magnum and I rated it mentally behind Parker Estate Terra Rossa and Leconfield CS. in similar price range. However Katnook Odyssey CS and Prodigy Shiraz were exceptional but at a much higher price.

Couldn't find any reference to VIC only on the website. Have some of the Piemonte stuff coming to QLD, too cheap to ignore.

Eeek! Just went to buy a single bottle from Winestar. In addition to the $18 AP freight, they want to charge a $10 "Less than Six Bottles Surcharge" AND a $10 "Non Dozen Surcharge". WTF?!?
Winestar is not the place to buy single bottles....
Their long term business model is to sell in dozens and I think their insurance included contract with Aramex has the same price for one, 6 or 12 bottles.
They've been around and successful for a long time (30 years?), so it's working for them.

I thought it was still a bargain to pay a $10 delivery fee on a 6-pack of Eileen Hardy Pinot Noir 2021 @ $50pb as a "mystery" wine.

Yep, definite problem buying from them. As a result I haven't purchased from them in over 5 yrs especially as I'll never knowingly order when Aramex is the designated courier.

Yes, have been following Bert for 30+ yrs since working in industry myself, but never recall it like this.
And, yes Aramax freight is $0 (maybe cause the $$ is high), but the $20 surcharges remain...
And, yes I hardly ever buy single bottles, I do prefer to buy in 6s. But at over $250/bottle, I'm not keen to buy 6 or 12...

Same. Not even cat food. Not worth the hassles.

Edit for full story... so I paid the extra for au post, ticked Winestars heat policy delay postage. It was 40° forecast for Melbourne that weekend (got to 39°), tracking showed delivered to outer melb warehouse Friday evening!
Complained, was told winestar did nothing wrong sending it Fri as it will be overnight. Of course it wasn't, tracking showed it arrived syd earlier mon am.
Winestar still asserted that they complied with the heat policy sending it Fri before a heatwave weekend. He agreed to accept the wine back and refund but I will be removed as a customer; pleased with that.
Just feel sorry for whoever eventually received my cooked wine.
