Just wondering if anyone has heard anymore with regards to VA DRW Lounge ?

I'm in the humidity today and doing the Wednesday 1 am departing red eye to BNE ... and then of to Honiara on Thursday VA4169 and then a light aircraft flight to Noro Island ......... Given that I'd kill to be able to Lounge here in Darwin.......

I haven't heard any more post the SilkAir announcement and the advice a Lounge was on the books for DRW.

I took this picture today and build progress looks good ........ any information would be appreciated ....

Surprising VA459 J was full on the way up on the 27th as was the main cabin...... I don't often see a full J on that one ....things must be picking up in the North.

The below link is the project status page, which mentions "works are on track to be completed in the third quarter of 2014, after which these two sections will join the existing terminal and provide more space for security screening, retail stores and departure gates." Not sure if that includes the lounge in those 2 sections though... Hopefully it is done by that time, will be up that way again about then!

I know I used my upgrades on that leg a few times, made it a bit more bearable!

DRW terminal at 1 am this morning was not pretty ....... two JQ flights SYD /MEL (I think) departing around then and the VA BNE flight - plus there was a wide body charter to Dubai at the international section. Crowded / uncomfortable / dirty / and the A/C was far from being on song ........ Add to that the VA computer terminals locking up at check in ........ Agree it's one for using the upgrades on !
