With Hobart having been chosen at the conclusion of the last poll, with 28 votes and nearly 50% of the vote, we now need to settle on a date, and leave the planning to the organising committee, who seem to be coming together in the last thread.

Following the date format of previous gatherings, a Friday to Sunday format is most likely to work, and the following dates are in the poll. I have include key events in each of the options, but have probably not covered all bases, so please speak up if.

As always, it's going to be hard to match everyones plans for the ideal date, but hopefully we can match as many as possible. As such, the poll is multiple choice, so you can select as many weekends as make sense.

  1. 4 October to 6 October
    • VIC, NSW, QLD school holidays
    • ACT, TAS, WA, SA school holidays
    • NT school holidays
    • NRL Grandfinal
  2. 11 October to 13 October
    • ACT, TAS, WA, SA school holidays
    • Bathurst 1000
  3. 18 October to 20 October
  4. 25 October to 27 October
  5. 1 November to 3 November
    • Melbourne Cup week following
  6. 8 November to 10 November
    • Melbourne Cup week preceding
  7. 15 November to 17 November
  8. 22 November to 24 November
    • First ASHES Test of 2013/2014 series, in Brisbane
  9. 29 November to 1 December
  10. 6 December to 8 December
    • Second ASHES Test of 2013/2014 series, in Adelaide

Previous dates are as follows:

AFF#6 OOL - October 26-28
AFF#5 CBR - October 7 - 9
AFF#4 BNE - October 22 - 24
AFF#3 SYD - October 23 - 25
AFF#2 ADL - November 28 - 30
AFF#1 MEL - August 1 - 3

I voted for the last two dates as I wont have a problem making it out of QLD by then ;)

And for those interested, F lounge run around then regardless, to be researched soon :p

Well who am I to go against the trend? :)

I am looking forward to the Flounge run. It may take a while to get from MEL-SYD-BNE-SYD-MEL-HBA though. (hic!)

I don't have any preference at this early stage. It would be great if samh004 could come.

Also, I would suggest that we avoid the school holidays as the airline 'sales' rarely cover these dates.

I am happy to 'help out' behind the scenes as I did with AFF #6, however I would be reluctant to take full responsibility for organising this do given my hectic work schedule. Those who know me well, will know this is probably the right move.

pffft, AFF7 will be way more fun than any work Christmas party I've ever been to.

I don't know. I had a blast at ours. Got home at 3:30am

Then again, it did get a mention in the news...

hahaha, well after last time...:oops::oops::oops:

What? Just because there were extra traps on the course? (Land in that trap and it's a 3 stroke penalty and definitely a new golf ball!) :p

Are there any good golf courses near Hobart anyway?

I'd be hoping and looking forward to finally playing golf this year! ;)

I am still yet to play Royal Pines - the morning of 4th of March perhaps?

I lost numerous golf balls before my 'retirement' from the last AFF golf day.

Are there any good golf courses near Hobart anyway?

Yes, many...

Sounds good, are you coming to LRE that weekend? I forgot who's going, other than me ;)

Yes, but don't partifularly want to fly my clubs to LRE for no reason. It may be possible to fly them to BNE and leave them at the hotel... I will email you my flights now :)

barnbougle is amazing and I would be interested in taking an extra day off if there were golfers. And of course if the dates fit in

It looks like a fine golf course, though a little out of town to comfortably walk.

I've got to say, the Links courses look amazing, if it wasn't for the fact it's near the wrong city ;)
