What route? I've had success with a minimum bid of $65 - twice!

Most obviously from MCY but I don't bid on those as no lounge at MCY and the VA flights are usually not at Meal times. Back from SYD or MEL have been unsuccessful. Now gold so get lounge access so no more bidding for me.

Well, he might be like Trump and remove them Friday, and add them all back on Monday. and remove them all again by Friday. Then watch this space.

Many folks today will not plan long term loyalty and spending to anything American run. Not all, of course, but when you are No#2 in the market, not a bright idea at all right now IMHO. A handy free kick to Qantas in the perception stakes.

Yep I had success for the first time a few days ago, but it was pretty special circumstances being a BNE-ADL flight on Thurs, my minimum bid was rejected outright, but then amended and accepted a day later because obviously they wanted to free up as many Y seats on what VA thought might be the last full day of BNE operations. Have people found that minimum bids are more successful in IIROPS situations when weather in SYD or MEL throws the schedule out the window?

I can’t find any record of it in the media but I distinctly recall him saying when he first took on the role at VA that he believed VA should model itself on the US LCC model and do away with lounges and J product.

I guess what he really meant was to get back to Virgin Blue. Anyone remember that? Jetstar would eat them alive.
