[h=2]Posting new thread as haven't seen this add on 5000 points offer on DJs Amex[/h]

5,000 extra points are on offer by activating the card on the phone: I was invited by the call centre operator to add a supplementary card at no cost and an additional 5,000 points. I'd already ordered one at the application stage for my husband so ordered one for 19 year old son. Easy 5,000 points.

So in summary

- $99 Annual fee
- 50,000 MR points or 37,500 Qantas Points
(using referral link, not using referral link is 40,000 points)
- No spend amount only use 3 times OUTSIDE of David Jones.
- David Jones benefits include free delivery, gift wrapping, member only discounts, free supplementary card for the first year

I get 15,000 points for a referral and you get 50,000 Points.

Not eligible if you have held a David Jones Amex card in the last 18 months.

Here's the referral link to get the extra 10,000 on top of the 40,000 points make sure to activate on the phone and ask about the 5,000 points bonus to add a supplementary card. Apply by August 31.

PS If you’ve already got the card, try calling about adding a supplementary card to get the bonus!

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

Quick update - never posted a referral before or even used one. Did so for the DJ's offer to get the extra points and then posted my own last week after being offered the extra 5000 for a supplementary card on the phone - got an email saying my referral had been used and the points have landed already. Awesome thanks who ever used my referral. :) This is it http://amex.com.au/refer/kathlovZrj

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

Applied through your link. This is a great card for spend on Fuel an Supermarkets with a low annual fee. I've ditched my Amex Premium card ($250pa) for this card and sign up bonus.

Application is clearly via AMEX website, but unusual to have to wait 5-10 working days for a response - unlike the online 60 second response for other AMEX cards.

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

Email Approval came the day after applying. No contact or payslips requested. Great deal so far.

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

Hey Scr77 thanks so much! The other offer I have on this card is:

DAVID JONES WELCOME OFFER
Spend $40 or more, get $15 back
Save the offer to your eligible Card and spend $40 or more, in one or more transactions, online or in-store at David Jones by 31/08/2017 to receive one $15 credit. Limited to the first 15,000 Cards to save the offer. Exclusions apply.
Please read the Offer Terms

I think you have to login online and go to offers and save it to your new card. Awesome. Here's my referral link again if anyone else wants it: http://amex.com.au/refer/kathlovZrj

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

I'm looking at this card but cannot find any info about the transfer rate from MR to SQ Krisflyer.
I understand that the DJ Membership Rewards is different to MR Ascent/Gateway, as per:
https://www.pointhacks.com.au/credit-cards/american-express-membership-rewards-ultimate-guide/

Looking at the T&Cs, section 11. Frequent Traveller Rewards:
This main page, davidjones.com.au/rewardpoints redirects to the PDF:
https://www.aexp-static.com/intl/au/pdfs/david-jones-mr-tncs.pdf
It only mentions a minimum of 5k to SQ KF (11.4) and that "11.7 The conversion rate applicable for redeeming Membership Rewards points
into points in frequent traveller programs varies among those programs.

"
To do a dummy transfer, you have to log in - which I can't do.
Is the rate 1 DJ MR = 0.5 SQ KF mile, as per Pointhacks? Ascent/Gateway is 1:1
"The main difference is that the David Jones Membership Rewards scheme has worse transfer rates than normal Membership Rewards – 50% of the transfer rate for airlines, but amazingly not Starwood Preferred Guest."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the best value would be for QFF (1 DJ MR = 0.75 QFF) on supermarket and petrol station spend (2.25 QFF points per dollar). There is no mention of a points cap - is this the case, unlimited earn at full rate?

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

Hi Kangol. I've just activated this card as a Qantas card and are trying to find the correct info. The card is uncapped and does transfer 1:0.75QF.

I can find a list of transfer partners for Membership Reward Points, but it says it's for the membership rewards Ascent. That may be a different program. It says 1 membership reward point transfers to 1 KrisFlyer mile. To be sure, I would ring. Id hate to mislead you.

if you proceed, my referral link is:

I got this card recently and have been told that it only transfers to QF.

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

For those who use use their supermarket shopping to gain QFF points the DJs card is now the best earner for me. My Qantas Amex Premium was previously the best until they reduced their 2 points for $1 to 1.25.

The DJs card gives me 2.25 QFF points per $1 at supermarkets so looked at ditching the Premium which I have had for 10 years. When I rang to cancel, the CS person offered me 23,000QFF points to stay! I took it.

This article is pretty good and explains the points conversion https://www.pointhacks.com.au/credit-cards/david-jones-american-express/ as I found it a little confusing as they are DJs MR to start with.

DJs offer ends August 31 for $99 it's pretty good! Here is the referral link to get the 10,000 MR additional points you get applying through a link: http://amex.com.au/refer/kathlovZrj :)

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

The David Jones American express card gives you 2.25 points at supermarkets and fuel which is much better than most cards. If you apply you will receive 50,000 MR points or 37,500 Qantas Points

I have been a member of this site for some time and have used someone's link above to register for a card. Here is mine link which will give you extra points when applying http://amex.com.au/refer/giocos045F.

?

I have this cards and can confirm the transfer rate is 2 : 1 for all FF Program if you go with MR Option instead of Qantas . with 50K Points on offer the best value is to transfer to SPG also at the same rate 2:1 which gave you 25K SPG Points .

My partner and i recently signed up both on this cards follow a referral link on here we net 2 x 40,000 ( lower offer ) together 20K referral points . So if you have a partner you both can sign up to get 50+50+20 = 120K Bonus Sign on offer . Together with addition card holder deal to get 10K for 2 cards which is what we did .

We use this card mainly for Super Market and Fuel which yield the most points earn 3 points / $ with aim to convert those points to SPG .

For those are new to SPG Points i have listed below some of the value you can get below :

  • 50K sign on bonus can get you 25K in SPG
  • In Sydney you can 2 free nights at the Westin or Sheraton on the Park with redemption rate of 12,000 points / nights value at $500 AUD for both nights
  • Those 25K SPG you can also convert to Marriott points that give you ratio of 1:3 = 125,000 Marriott points which can give you 5 nights at Categories 6 Marriott Hotel with minimum value at $600 AUD .
  • The best use of SPG points in my book will be saving up to 90K SPG to convert to 270K Marriott which you will you a Travel Package of 7 nights Cat 1-5 Marriott Hotel Nights plus 120,000 Points in American Airlines or Alaska Miles or 132,000 Points in United Miles
  • 120,000 Alaska Miles can get 4 x Business oneway Ticket from Australia to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific at 30,000 per ticket
  • 132,000 United Miles can also get 3 x First Class ticket from Australia to South East Asia at 40,000 points per ticket ( if you book your flight before 1st November 2017 rates will become more expensive after this devaluation )

Here is my link for the referral offer which i will received 20K points if someone use it . You will receive 50K points

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

That's a bit rough. Usully something ending on 31 August goes through to COB at least. Again, my on line site cannot access any link.

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

Data point: referred 2 people during recent 50K bonus, one got the bonus and so did I. Other one did not and I was told it was because they already had an Amex card. Actually, both people had an existing card.

My referral says this : "You cannot refer a friend who already has one of our cards or has held one in the past 18 months."

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

Not sure where to ask this question, but I'll try asking it here.

I've just received my DJs Amex card and want to add it to my Card Services account. I can't do it online and the call centre says I can't have a DJs Amex on the same account as other Amex. Is this what other people have found? It's gonna be slightly annoying to not have them on the same login, especially on smartphone app :(

Re: David Jones Amex Express - newer offer 50,000 bonus $99 plus 5,000 for each supp

To make a round about suggestion, do not alert Amex (any more than you already have), to the fact that you already have an Amex as according to their T&Cs, they may withhold the bonus.
