Once the wildlife drive was over I went back for another quick swim before checking in for the sunset camel trek.
There is afternoon tea provided at the reception

I was still full from lunch so made do with an Arabic coffee

Agree with your thoughts. It is impossible to do justice to all the food offerings.
Much as we tried.
Two staff members even appeared at our beautiful villa, bearing a thoughtful selection of afternoon tea, when we had failed to show up for reasons similar to yours, PF.

Time for the sunset camel trek. We set off on a short walk from reception to an area behind the pool to meet the camels.

We rode for about 1/2 hour into the dunes and then stopped to watch the sunset.
The resort sets up a little bar cart and glasses of bubbly are given out.

Sadly not much of a sunset that night.


The dunes were pretty though


After a short break it was time to get back in the saddle.

All things considered I absolutely loved Al Maha, those lucky enough to stay there are very fortunate indeed.
Amidst the glitz and glam that is Dubai, it is well worth the trek out here to the desert and I hope to return again soon.
