Day use hotel near Auckland airport

My son-in-law arrives at AKL from PER at 6am and has a 13 hour layover before his next international flight.

Any recommendations on a hotel near the airport that can be booked for day use.

Response from Novotel was this:

Regretfully our Day use rooms have been temporarily suspended.
We are only selling our full nights’ accommodation.

Emailed all the hotels at the Airport and only Naumi Auckland Airport said yes.

Cost was US$100 and it was okay - not great.

The only reason transiting in AKL was having to use a credit to the USA with ANZ before it expired.

Coming home from the USA using another credit with Emirates which is the best option to travel from Perth to the USA and back.
