Im arriving in Port of LA off a cruise at 7am and am on QF12 back to SYD that night at 20:30. Will need the use of a day room with late check out at LAX (will get shuttle van/taxi). This is so we can put our luggage in a safe place (as there is no left luggage anywhere in LA after 9/11) and have a rest and shower before the flight. Most of the LAX hotels have free shuttles.
Anyone have any suggestions of places, and the best way to book it. All the hotel websites don't list day use only just overnight.
Google and tripadvisor suggest TravellodgehotelatLAx, HiltonGarden Inn LAX, DoubleTree LAX and Hilton LAX.
Thanks

There are a few hotels near the airport with day rooms. May have to call the hotel if you can't book online.

Travelodge Hotel. They have day rates (8:00am-8:00pm) from $49.95 + tax.

Hilton. Day rooms available from 9:00am-6:00pm.

Half day rates generally finish at 6pm so you get the room, hire a car, check your baggage by tipping the baggage handler, have a shower just before 6pm and see the sights until 2 hours before the plane is scheduled to go.Catch their courtesy bus to LAX once you have picked up your bags.
The hotels mentioned already can do this for you.One that cannot do this is Embassy Suites North as their store is tiny.

Have used the Crowne Plaza at LAX several times for exactly this purpose. Comfy hotel with shuttle to and from all LAX terminals. Reasonable rates too. I think the last time I did this was $80 and I used the room from 09:00 to 19:00.
