Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if any banks in australia have a debit card with no international transaction fees? I have a friend who is travelling overseas on exchange and they just got knocked back by GE for the 28 Degrees card. Does anyone know of a debit card which does not have transaction fees or killer FX rates?

ING Orange, as mentioned above.
I have used it for a few years now for domestic everyday, and also OS visa and withdrawls. You do pay a transaction fee but it's small bikky's compared to the larger banks.
The only issue I've found os is that some atm's won't recognise it, as it is a 'foreign' card so you need to make cash withdrawls from an 'international' atm. Only happened to me in Germany - no issues elsewhere.

Thanks to everyone for their help.

Does anyone know if any of the large multinational retail banks operate in The Netherlands? I know for HSBC/Citi you can open accounts for other countries (EG the UK) whilst you're in sydney. Is there a way of doing this for a Dutch bank account?
