Dell XPS 15 - reviews?

Looks like my IT consultant is advising us to get a couple of new laptops for our business. He has suggested a Dell XPS 15 and "can be a bit pricey, but they’re good and they just work. I’m waiting on one of their weekly specials to look inviting enough."

Having been a long time user of Asus (well the last couple of iterations of my laptop), but I think my first one was a Dell.

Has anybody any positives/negatives from their own experiences. Have checked out review here: Dell XPS 15 - Full Review and Benchmarks

Have a 6 week old XPS 13 with the i7 series 7 chip and am very happy. My old box got in the way of progress quite often with big spreadsheets but never an issue so far with this one.

Spec is 256GB HD 8GB RAM W10 Pro.

Did you collect the Qantas points for your dell purchase?

Tried but the online dude said no, as I hadn't purchased through their web site.

Interested to see what you think, or anyone else who has a Thunderbolt. They recalled the original ones and we had to get the WD15 USB3 Docks which are ok. One of the clients had HP's with their Thunderbolt and took 6 months to get working properly.

I can hang out plugging and unplugging everything until then. Better news I got two bites of the cherry - found a business discount code of 10% off accessories (reduced price to $431.09) and this time, was able to order online and my ABN stuck this time so will get ~1,300 QF Business Reward points

Weird how something that was slated for delivery on 5 July, can come 2 weeks early. Advised last night of brought-forward date and Startrack Express consignment details for tracking last night. In a truck at 8am this morning and awaiting delivery today.

Then they hammer me with surveys, so I was kind and truthful, but not generous. Shouldn't be difficult to find the same item across both the personal and business version of a website...but it wasn't there (even after doing a global search). Yet the online business rep could share the link with me in a minute?

That's why I don't have an enormous trust in the IT industry (but coming from such a low base of knowledge and inclination to understand, probably my fault). But everybody has similar traits that come from previous experiences and are hard to shake.

Curious to know the difference between XPS 15 and Inspiron 15 5000 series?

Been looking at spending around $1500-1700 on an XPS 15 (from the dell outlet) but noticed the Inspiron's are a little cheaper?

Moving back to windows from a macbook air to do a little solidworks design/rendering so need the juice!

Xps 15 is without peer ... worlds best 15 inch windows laptop. But.... it’s big and it’s heavy and it’s on it’s way out for me when the new xps13 is released a CES 2018 ...
