Does anyone know what fare class or category needs to be available to book an award seat on Delta?

I note on Delta's own web site reward seats are categorised as "Saver Award" (hardly ever available) and "Standard Award" (more expensive but usually available) and i'm curious to know which if any of these correspond to the bucket available to VA award bookings? Thinking about offering to book some family members a trip from Ireland to meet us in the US but can't tell if there's any chance at all of availability.

Anyone booked Delta flights through VA before and have any feedback/ insights?

*Bump* Have nothing to add, just that I too am interested in redeeming on DL and would like to know people's experiences.

DL FFs can already book VA flights online using miles. I assume when VA does it's long-promised website upgrade we'll be able to do the same. Unfortunately I need the tickets before 2019.

Award Travel

  • R - First Class award.
  • O - Business Elite award.
  • E - Coach award.
  • N - Coach award.
ExpertFlyer only show N class.

It seems other than searching on DL.com or maybe Award Nexus it's a careful steady task to search.
