So I have received an email message from Virgin about one of my flights, offering changes or cancellation for travel credit or refund.

When I click through and choose the refund option, I get this pop-up error message:

"Refund Original Payment Gcc Contact Details"

If I go into the bookings through the app, the cancellation option is there for Travel Credit only, not refund to my payment method.

I can't faff around with this for too long, as they've rebooked me in a few days, and I don't want to take the flights.

Tell me you're an interstate journalist without telling me an interstate journalist

(Redcliffe is the other side of the city, although I guess they both have 'red' in the name).

You'll need to call the guest contact centre for a refund to your original payment type.

I called VA yesterday after tomorrow's MEL-OOL was cancelled and because it was a Choice fare I was told I could only get travel credit. The cancellation was 'due to weather which is not VA's fault' so they aren't issuing refunds. My inbound on Monday was a Flex fare, but of course they applied the most restrictive conditions to the whole booking. Not a huge drama for me as I'm about to book flights later in the year and will use the credit but be aware of the company line they're peddling.

11am update (they are hourly now). Drifting a little further south and hasn't started tracking north yet, so crossing point could drift south as well - now looking like Redcliffe instead of Bribie.
