What is going on with the delta redemptions at the moment? I booked one over the phone the other day that they told me was business class (LAX > SYD) but the points were coming up as 127,500 instead of the usual 95,500. They actually refunded me the 32,000 pts difference but it turns out the flight was actually booked in premium economy but my SYD > ADL leg was still in business (which is weird to begin with because VA always flatly refuse cross-cabin on the same PNR. When I searched other dates online they say the 127,500 and then a window comes up to notify you that there isn't J space and the seat will be in PE even though the flights have wide open space in J.

Anyone else experienced this?

Delta have a "premium select" International product that uses what have been traditionally business fare buckets.

Can be a good earner on revenue fares but perhaps not so for redemptions.

There are now Delta seats for 95,500 Business Class, however they error out when trying to book them.

I think its only for flights after april 18th is when it goes up from 95,500 to 127,500.

Most likely due to the fact the 777s are gonna be retrofitted with the new "delta one suites"

April 18 is when DL starts flying the Delta One suites and the new Premium Select (which is IMHO a ridiculous name for premium economy) to Sydney. But the Velocity website is making errors on multiple levels here.

Firstly, Delta One is not "first class" and, in any case, Velocity does not have an award chart for Delta first class. So I don't know where they would get 127,500 points from, even if this was an F product.

Secondly, the awards showing at this price all book into Premium Select anyway. Which should be 71,700 Velocity points.

Mine is showing 95500 for Business Class + $290 taxes on DL40 booking into Business Class and not Preimum Economy, but errors out when processing payment for late in the year. Tried multiple times. Called and got told it was a known issue with Delta currently and their tech team was working on it.

This is an error. A friend of mine was charged 127k for their booking and called up Velocity and after a lot of back and forth they realised they were wrong and refunded him the difference in points as it should have been 95.5k.
I also recently booked SYD-LAX on Delta One through velocity for 95.5k for a flight in September.

yes in deed

These are errors.. I cancelled 2 seats to book via call centre ... After getting through to someone that seemed to know what they were on about they clarified that it is a known problem at the moment, they are aware, you definitely only get the seat in PE, you will be charged the 127k points if you go ahead and the advised me that they have been advising people not to book unless they are happy with the above.

I note as of yesterday, the entire week that was showing available for me is now not there at all. That option seems to have been removed

Yes it’s looks sadly like Delta business class has been removed. Hopefully it will appear back fixed.

Last Happy Hour (Thurs 7th March) I found 2 x DL40 J SYD-LAX for January 2020. Redemption was 95.5k per pax. Next day they were gone, not sure if they were snapped up or removed.

I am interested in the new Delta One as a novel option at 95.5k - but 127k? They can keep their suites and I'll slum it in The Business...........

I did notice this too; thought all the availability was a bit too good to be true. I did get 2 J seats on VA2 in October though. Looks like the introduction of higher booking fees has lead VA to open up some more availability.
