Delta Gold Medallion / Elite Plus and Delta Comfort+

Could be... I go cheap!

I have DL GM, so I can juggle to get reasonable seats. I have to say that I don't mind DL.

While the client's paying I fly W and upgrade to J. Meet them halfway.

Guarantees me a half-way decent seat if I can't swing an upgrade.

I find business = 0 day recovery, premium = 1 day, economy = 2.

Yes, DL is my favourite of the US airlines, but I much prefer VA for the SYD<->LAX hop.

I forgot to report back. I called Delta and was able to get seats allocated. I was told they were first row back from Comfort+ seats and that I could call T-72 to get complimentary comfort+ allocated if still available. I assume it's 72hours before flight departure time ?

Doczim, I believe that's correct, it's 72 hours before local departure time. If you wait until T-24 then you don't have to call, as online check in opens then, but you run the risk of the C+ seats being taken.

At 72 hours before departure you should see the comfort+ seats showing a price of free. You should be able to do it online.

Assume nothing - if it had been me, I'd be trying at three calendar days, then at 72 hours.

And, if not success than, I'd still keep checking as elites generally have these seats allocated and when upgraded their E+ seats can become available.

I have a (rare for me) economy flight coming up in January; I will be looking here with interest.
