I am in the Sky Lounge in Miami, but it took quite an argument to get in. They don't recognise the Visa card that Velocity sends out if you sign up to that travel card offer. But that is all I have as it is all that was in the Platinum pack.

They look on their computer screen and expect to see a traditional Velocity card. They have no interest in what it says on your boarding pass!

So flyer beware. You may want to get a second old fashioned card. It did help when I told her to turn the card over but she wasn't believing it, but eventually let me in. They just don't believe that a Visa can be a Velocity card. Maybe the combined card is not known in the USA.

And you may want to go to Bongo's in the concourse instead, the lounges here in the USA are nothing on the Australian ones. I have said if before and I repeat it. Virgin Australia has the best staff and facilities out of anything I have experienced in the USA! We are spoiled!

I found that to be often the case recently in the US with my SG VFF Global Wallet card across various DL lounges. I found it helps that I paid attention to handing the card the the person non Visa side up.

It does not help that on the Global Wallet cards at least, the VA logo is nowhere to be seen. Often they also think that VA is VX or VS. Unfortunately we need to stand our ground & if need be, take it up with the supervisor of the lounge.

The lounge staff can retrieve your appropriate details & relevant status on their computers if required.
