Times have changed , we destroyed two houses in the burbs.. just piled it all up along with a few trees and set a match to it.
Nobody complained.. thats the way stuff was done...
Yes. Not that we've ever used it in the 23yrs we lived here and cost me a bit to have it professionally cleaned by a sweeper person. I did consider putting a combustion heater in there at one stage but that was just throwing more money into the pit.IsWas that a wood-burning fireplace?
Got it ... I have lived in rentals around the country and I always like houses that have the fireplace. One time in SYD, the REA made this huge talk about how the house had a fireplace and whole story around sitting around it, nursing a cup of tea/cocoa etc etc ... didn't end up putting an application for the place, but the REA's storytelling was niceYes. Oh noooo ... hope things get resolved quickly. I'd assume they'd have to bring in someone special to get it removed etc.?asbestos found

We had an old Tudor with several open fireplaces. As long as you get the draught right there are no issues at all, even with fire alarms.I cant imagine having an open wood fire inside a house, where there is carpets and curtains ect. I imagine it being smoky. We had another house that also had a open fireplace - never used it but we strongly suspect the renters did by the smell of it (and they had animals inside as well, which was prohibited in the lease).
Im sure they expect asbestos with these old houses so waiting for next step of the clean up plan.
Wow - so quick and so neat looking. Now the waiting for the build to start and yet more excitement. After 2.5 days, demo complete.
Only damage was one colorbond panel where the giant pine tree truck and root was removed from and we already left note and flowers for owner, advising it'll be replaced next week.
Now waiting for receipts and certificates from demo company to give to Builder and request site inspection so they will be happy with the site so we can enter the "patiently waiting" phase for site works.
What is the square metre of the block?
Just out of curiosity as obviously you can’t tell from pictures unless extremely talented.
Like moths to the flamePeople seem to be randomly attracted to the vacant block. Demo gates removed today, neighbours walking their dogs stopping to look and discuss and now someone tried to drive in. We set off the ring alarm when we saw them open their car door so they left but might contact builder about fencing sooner than later.
