Hey folks, I'm flying from BKK to MEL via SIN. BKK to SIN is on Jetstar 3K516 (sold as QF5170). SIN to MEL is QF36. I tried to access the CX and EK lounges in BKK. CX knocked me back saying their policy is to only recognise Qantas flight numbers not codeshares. EK knocked me back saying that because the Jetstar flight is also an EK codeshare that it needed to be ticketed as "sold as EK" rather than "sold as QF". I was going to try JAL but that was closed so I had to settle for the underwhelming Miracle Lounge.

I've read the Qantas lounge access eligibility page carefully and as far as I can tell I should have been admitted. Thankfully it was only for 30 minutes. If it were longer I would've bene quite unhappy.

Question: Was I right to be denied entry?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Hi Huge.k,
I am in the same up coming situation - flying from BKK to MEL via SIN. BKK to SIN is on JetstarAsia 3K516 (sold as QF5170). SIN to MEL is QF36. I have booked and paid for business thru Qantas, yet the BKK to SING is in economy. Which I can deal with however, Qantas online chat have advised me I do not have access to any lounge in BKK. How did you even get into the Miracle lounge?
(I am QF Gold status too) Any advise or help greatly appreciated.

Any of the Jetstar group are not Oneworld airlines so as they are operating your codeshare flights you will not get access to One world lounges. Only QF lounges and some partner lounges. the Miracle loung is a QF partner lounge but if flying Jetstar you must be in business class with a Max bundle.

However if you are on a QF codeshare on JQ then you should get access to partner lounges therefore the Miracle lounge in BKK.

Scroll down to partner lounges.
And for Bangkok.

Qantas indeed provide Miracle Lounge access at BKK for WP / SG flying 3K to SIN.
Well, that's good news indeed. I guess I won't have a similar experience flying Scoot Plus in the near future. I expect I'll need to bring Priority Pass to bear for the Omanair lounge (which is way better than the Miracle IME).
