Welcome to the Partay!

I am not having this issue on my Windows 10 PC with Internet Explorer 11, but I did have this problem on older PCs running XP and Firefox quite a few months ago, the issue was fixed quite a while ago, but seeing as its reappeared again for some people would seem to indicate that the "fix" has been broken/turned off or overwritten in some way recently.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

This is very odd. I can't replicate the problem on my mac with either Safari or Chrome. I'll try later on a Windows machine.

Apologies for this little problem, I'll look for a fix. (But it might be difficult to fix as it only happens in certain circumstances)

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Thanks for posting that oz_mark.

vBulletin support believe that the problem is due to an "incompatibility between new versions of Chrome and the now quite old version of CKEditor that vBulletin 4 uses as its message editor".

vBulletin have no plans to replace CKEditor (and we have no plans to upgrade to vB5), so if this is a problem for you, they suggest "Probably the best bet for any users affected is to get them to switch to the text-only editor ('source mode) instead of the WYSIWYG. They can do this in their user settings."

You can do this from: Settings > General Settings and then scroll down to Miscellaneous Options to find the Message Editor Interface control.

It seems to be a problem with new versions of Chrome, and older versions of vBulletin.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Yes, I thought that I was only one with that problem, with the cursor deciding to have a mind of its own.

In other news I overdrew the bank account.

The cursor only jumps for me when I bold something (I use CMD+B / Ctrl+B) ; I'll continue typing after using the keyboard shortcuts, then a few seconds later it jumps back to the bit I used bold on earlier and starts typing in there. Don't use bold much so doesn't really bother me too much

also chimed in after I raised this 2nd peculiarity which has cropped up conveniently in this answer. Covered both W8.1 and 10 unfortunately. Does not happen every time either.
It is on a Windows machine with Firefox for me (and a number of others who

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Just tried it out here. Seems to be no problem.

This is Firefox on Windows 10, desktop.

h. And as just occurred the number of characters before it jumps up differs as well. 1 mark for the tot thread.
It does not happen every time (this one worked perfectly). As a pedant I am going to keep track of which threads it occurs wit

Interesting, I know that when using WYSIWYG in the Wiki it yields strange results too, a reason if I'm ever in there I make sure I use the text-only editor.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

I'm now having spacebar issues yet I didn't on Friday when this was reported. I'm using the same machine.

I'm having same issues in Chrome running OSX.

It's frustrating enough that I don't bother posting when on my laptop.

Well my cursor has a mind of it's own and not limited to AFF.It might miss a few letters and often wont let me use double letters-eg I just had to correct millennials in the previous post as it would only let me use 1 L and 1 N.now of course it behaves itself.
Was definitely worse using Chrome so I have not installed it on this computer. Was very frustrating.

Had the space bar problem for the first time today but seems to be working ok now:)
