I have checked my account after 3 night stay at the Sofitel Darling Harbour. Prior to the stay I was at 13,700 status credits so i wanted to make sure that I had maintained Platinum .

Upon checking my account I was suprised to see that I was now Diamond!

Congratulations, you’re ALL Diamond!

No mention of Diamond benefits on the website but upon some searching the internet firstly you need to have 26,000 status credits so not sure how I am Diamond. Only benefits i can see are that I get breakfast on a weekend if the hotel does not already give breakfasts to Platinum members (eg Fairmont Hotels) and I can gift a gold membership.

Has anyone else been suprised to be given Diamond Membership?

AFAIK it's a bug on the website, when calculating your progress to the next tier.

The APP says something along the lines of you're at the highest tier, which should be Platinum.

Woodborer thanks for the response - have checked the app and it states Platinum but no mention of me being at the highest tier.

I have been having problems with the website over the last 2 weeks so this is just another glitch.
