Hi all,

Given the codeshare between the 2 airlines and high surcharge and taxes on Singapore Airlines redemptions, I started to look at Velocity award redemptions.

However searching various dates I am finding that even though Singapore Airlines has an award seat, Velocity dont list the same one for the same dates.
Velocity do list the AnySeat award equivalents but the points requirement on those is far too high

Is the the experience of people here? that Virgin dont release many award seats at all (just like Qantas) even though their partner airlines see to offer the same low point award seat for the exact same flight?

Thanks

I just had the exact same experience looking for South African flights over the phone. The United website seemed to show available reward seats from LOS/ABV-JNB, but when I called up VA, they couldn't find any seats available ...

Did you try calling? Reward seats often don't show online but when you call they can usually find something for you.

I believe SQ doesn't release award seats to their partners (not just VA, *A as well) that are available to their own KF folks. This is where being able to transfer VFF points over to KF is very handy! Might just end up with higher fees.

That's my understanding too. SQ are very stingy with what they release to partners in premium cabins. But the upshot of that is that there's usually really good availability directly though SQ.
