Thanks - I'm going to do a bit more investigation and try and email the lounges where possible to check I'll be okay but I'll probably apply. If the DC website list is current I'm very impressed with their amount of lounges!

Just a few more questions:

We have two 3 - 4 hour stopovers in Singapore (T3 to T3 SQ transfer). There is at least 1 DC lounge in each terminal of SIN, apparently the T2 one is the best. Presumably if we have time we can go to the T2 one if we can get into that terminal? Surely they wouldn't send us back to T3 just because our flight leaves from there? (I believe only some lounges ask for a boarding pass anyway - if you are airside in SIN you are obviously coming on or off a flight!)

I also read somewhere that you get 4 hours in each lounge and if you try to enter another lounge within that 4 hour period you will be charged the guest fee for the 2nd one. Does this mean lounge hopping in SIN is out? I dont plan to visit all of them but if the first one we go to is rubbish we would want to find one that is decent.

Lounge hopped before in Changi - had a longer layover in T3 and went to visit the lounges in T1, before waiting in T3 for my flight.

I've also lounge hopped in HKG, and popped back into the 'better' lounge when my flight was delayed. Never received a bill or anything or the sort. Then again, I also have a free DC and take that for what it is. If it's really only $7.50 a pop; maybe you're overthinking things

I have a lifetime free DC inherited from the old Ansett Golden Wings program. My wife has a companion card for $20 a year. I very rarely use the card for purchases, but use it for lounges everywhere (except Australia - NZ had a lounge years back).

Singapore I lounge hop every 4 hours on long stop overs, never been charged for second, third use. Never been to T2 lounge, but SATS in T3 and T1 are great, Rainforest lounge not great. Also Geneva is nice, HCMC ok, a little small.

Works on arrival as well, which I use in SIN when I arrive too early for hotel check in.

I noticed that Liquorland are promoting a no annual fee Diners Club card now, which might be useful for lounge access. There doesn't seem to be anything about it online but they have info in store.

Yes that's true i picked up an application form for the no annual fee Diners Club card at Liquorland. however it was a business application form. i called up and asked them to post me a personal application. They couldn't tell me much about it and asked that i call applications dept during business hours. does anyone know if you can use the coles Liquorland no annual fee Diners Club card to access lounges? the rewards program is optional at a cost. what is the minimum income required for the business and personal application? can supplementary card holders get free airport lounge access too? can you simply do a product transfer from a coles customer account card to a coles Liquorland no annual fee Diners Club card?

They may have changed the scope of who they offer the cards to, but the initial idea of the card was to move people that had monthly accounts with Liquorland onto the Diners Clubs books. It was a bit of a cut down offering (could only be used at Liquorland), but perhaps it will be useable at airport lounges!

Yep. A quick google search shows up a response from Coles to the ACCC regarding features of this card...

Coles used the example of a footy club getting this product given they are an existing customer who pays on 'credit', however would not be able to get access to a traditional 'credit product' given their legal structure.

Basically liquorland wants the credit piece off their books and have chosen Diners to deal with this...

has anyone with a Diners club Liquorland card that has no annual fee ever tried to use it to access airport lounges successfully? I got told two different things on the phone one said yes you can use any diners club card to access the listed airport lounges. however i doubt it can be used anywhere else as the card is restricted to Liquor Land use only but on the back its printed "valid world wide". I brought this to the call centers attention today and then they corrected themselves and said im right it can only be used at Liquorland not for airport lounge access afterall.

since the card needs to be swiped upon entry so i dont think it will work. Can anyone with the card clarify if it does work to access the listed airport lounges?
