Diners club-web problems?

I have had no problems recently accessing my DC account on line but the rewards system is definitely not working.I rang early September to complain about points not posting and they did post those missing until then however no more have posted.
Also i cant redeem online-I get to the page which says you have successfully redeemed but nothing happens over the next few weeks.i have tried ~ 10 times in 10 weeks. Will ring again when i get back to Oz.

Well today I rang DC.They informed me I could not redeem points because there was a block on my account as I had exceeded my limits-well i said there are no limits on points as I heard that whilst on hold and you still let me use the card, previously i used to spend a lot more so what limit have I exceeded?Couldnt answer so transferred me to customer service-line drops out.
Ring back an hour later and get onto customer service-sounded suspiciously like India. No answers and told i will speak to my manager and get back to you. They havent.
I found an old expired offer for Amex with bonuses-rang them and they were happy to offer the same so application faxed off. Will ring DC tomorrow and inform them of this action.

Well on Tuesday I rang back-told no block on your account so I will transfer points for you.10 minutes later I am put on to a supervisor-another Indian voice-go through the same proceedure so i said that I had applied to Amex.A couple of minutes later I am transferred to a woman with an American accent. My points seem to be in the process of transferring but points from my August account on have still not posted.

I have stopped using my DC card after 15-20 calls trying to resolve SIMPLE problems caused by their software upgrade meltdown! Just need to use up my remaining 20K DC pts....but can't bear going through all that agony again!!!

After 10 years I gave up my DC account earlier this year, the service has be reduced to almost zero where nothing happens by using the call centre.

They have become a second class card whereas 10 years ago they were at the top. With so many choices around DC just doesn't cut it.

The only problem is that my aim at the moment is to make LT Plat on AA.With the DC I have $1 spend gets me 0.925 AA miles.Amex will only get 0.41 miles per $ spend.

A morris dilemma for sure, I also was getting higher rewards under DC, but in the end I couldn't take the attitude that you WILL talk to our call centre in India and we will never publish our Australian address or phone numbers anywhere.

I just didn't need the extra points that badly.

Ditto.Agree 100%!!

The rewards saga continues. On 24/11 a supervisor said that she would get the points from August account on posted.11/12 and still nothing so i ring again to the Indian call centre.Explain it all again and put on hold whilst agent talks to a supervisor.Comes back after about 20 minutes and says the supervisor has referred this on to management as my account already had an active investigation.Told they would ring back in 30 minutes.Of course that did not happen.
So today checked my account to see if the points had posted. Now no mention of rewards points at all-no total and no redeem awards button. What a farce.Maybe the fact that i had been earnig 1.5 points per dollar has something to do with it.However if they reduce to 1 point dollar spend the advantage of DC virtually disappears and another customer is lost-maybe thats what they want.

My advice...give DC the flick! I have (DC member of 19 years!!)!! See post #24. DC are UNABLE to fix / resolve anything without MULTIPLE frustrating calls!!!!

Incredible!
The "redeem" button was there earlier in the week, but no QF transfer option apparent, and now it's gone again.
Their story about "system upgrades" being the cause is ridiculous, after such a long time too. I'd call and complain, if there was a local number to talk to someone other that India.
I'm regretting keeping my DC as my only non QF-direct transfer card.....
If I can transfer my point, I'll be gone very soon I think!

Certainly if I could be sure Amex would do a regular special transferring to SPG then DC would get the flick.May anyway though Amex have started me out on a limit that wouldnt get me 1 DONE4 let alone 2 that i do.
The problems continue. The call of 11/12 fixed nothing so called again on 16/12.Was assured points would be credited that afternoon.48 hours later still no sign.A letter is next-does anyone have an email of a DC exec?

It seems likely that Citigroup is trying to sell the Australian DC business, as they have just done in Canada and the US. So Citigroup executives seem to show little interest in supporting their current Australian DC cardholders.

Well the saga continues.Gave up the phone enquiries and wrote a letter.Miraculously it found a human. However the response was the points that appeared in September were all the points I was owed, only the december account outstanding and those were credited.
Strange that payments made in sept, oct, november after the points transfer dont count. So a follow up letter sent.
My mind is now made up.In july i will switch my Citi plat visa + DC to a plat Amex.July is when my cards expire.Dependent of course on getting all the rewards points I have earned!

It's about time drron!!!

Why delay? Only more pain and frustration, I say!!! It takes a maximum of 2 business days for my AMEX pts to T/F to Sq, HHonors, PC etc so I'm really impressed by Amex Plat (and all done online!!).

I haven't received any DC pts for the last 3 -4 months for my (only) remaining monthly $78 direct debit charge on my Diners. I'm in the (painful) process of transferring my remainder DC pts to SPG....then it will be completely sayonara to DC:evil:

PS: DC also have not send me a letter as they always do at the end of each year offering me 1.5 DC pts per $ spent in 2010 to make matters worse so it's back to 1 DC pts per $ spent!!:rolleyes:

Yes I also have not received the letter for 1.5 points per $1 for 2010.As I pointed out in my letter if I only get 1 point per $1 spend on DC then my SPG points per $ will be the same if i have an Amex plat so no reason at all to remain with DC.Not cancelling yet as owed about 70000 points.

What I meant was that you should stop charging items to your DC as you are not getting your pts, and start using another card ASAP eg AMEX PLat. Last year, I switched all my spend from DC to the RACP AMEX plat card [for $295 per year] (I assume you are thinking of this one as well;)); the free flight you get per year just about covers the yearly card fee....until I get all my DC pts TF to SPG, I'm not cancelling as yet (it's free after all!!).

There is only one small reason (for me) to hang onto the DC is that it still allows airport lounge access in some airports but that in itself is also besiged by confusion;):evil:

Not sure if anyone is still watching this blog but would like to share my experience so far and hope for some guidance. It appears my problem is common and I have been told by DC all different excuses and ways to sort out my issue(s).
Generally I have not been able to access or sight my points since June 2009. I have been in contact with their customer relations people via 1300 360 060 many times since 21/1/10 and given a number of excuses as to why they are hiding my points. No-one there seems to really know what to do (I saw another blog which mentioned the staff are not allowed to have pens or paper!?).
I also called their business number (1300 656 689) and actually spoke to an Australian! He was very helpful and asked for a screen shot of the problem for their IT techs to check. But on the second call I was told I couldn't be helped as I was not one of their listed customers. He told me to call the Bangalore number and talk to someone more senior. Back in March I emailed Chris Zappone from the SMH who had an article on this and to date have not received a reply. I also tried one of the Melbourne radio stations and no result once again.
Is it better to write as someone has done?
It just appears, reading this blog and other web based blogs that they are with holding the points for financial reasons.
Like mentioned before, I also just want to get hold of the points and move them across to FF's as I have an overseas trip coming up with my son and the points will be very handy.

Welcome biggles-my childhood hero.I came across all of the biggles books in a place just out of st. helens, tasmania 2 weeks ago.
Now on to Diners.I have had the same problem. In September 2009 they posted 3 months points after several phone calls. Then after several phone calls and 2 letters I had the points for Dec and January posted but none since.I have written 2 more letters-3 months and 1 month ago and no reply or points.in the last letter i told them i was applying liquidated damages-ie i have not used my DC and put everything i would have on Amex-still no reply.
it is very frustrating as i am trying to get to life Time platinum on AA-credit card points count in that program.DC is the best at maximising points to AA.I am giving them 2 weeks and then write a letter to the banking ombudsman with a copy to Citibank australia. If no response my citi Plat visa also gets cancelled.
My guess is that by the end of the year I will no longer have a DC or citi card and will upgrade Amex to a plat card.

thanks drron. It seems that DC only oil the noisiest wheels. But it appears we haven't hit the right nerves yet. I thought I was getting somewhere with the aussie 1300 number and can't believe there isn't someone more local to talk to. Plus surely there are many others out there with our problem?!
