Hi there

I don't think there are any airlines that fly BNE/HNL and vice versa direct anymore. Am I correct?

I live on the Gold Coast. I will probably end up having to fly OOL/SYD and then catching a direct plane to HNL from there. It would be wonderful if there is a direct flight from BNE though.

Thanks

Linny

Wouldn't it be better for you if there was a direct OOL-HNL service? ;)

Sadly, neither that nor BNE-HNL exist. Easiest would be routing OOL-SYD-HNL.

There is also an OOL-AKL-HNL option on NZ which would avoid the SYD terminal transfer, however it's only two days a week from memory.

Or... to get very creative there is BNE-NAN-HNL on FJ, however it would involve an overnight and the entire trip on 737's!

If you want to get really creative, book something like OOL-SYD,SYD-CNS-GUM-HNL - though why anyone would put themselves through that intentionally I don't know

Heh, chuck a GUM-NRT-KIX-HNL in there too!

Thanks everyone. I like the OOL/AKL/HNL option on NZ. I don't want to fly domestically within Australia as I plan to fully use my 32kg baggage allowance (if that still applies to flights coming back from USA?)

"32Kg baggage allowance" [or similar] may not necessarily apply these days. There have been some recent changes (generally reductions) to allowances.

At the very basic level, with checked luggage for transpacific itineraries:

There are higher allowances for those in Premium cabins and/or having frequent flyer elite status.

As long as you realise this option misconnects in AKL in one and possibly both directions depending on which day you return from HNL.

Not the most frequent of services either OOL-AKL or AKL-HNL, so if you need to make a change you're likely to find yourself in a bit of strife.

I personally wouldn't recommend it myself.

Thanks.

I really wish there was a direct BNE-HNL flight. It would be the best option for me! I wonder if V Australia have plans to operate this route?

I wouldnt expect anyone to launch a direct BNE-HNL flight in the near future, i dont perceive the demand would be sufficiant enough to make it pay.
